PLEASE FOLLOW THESE STEPS IN PROPER SEQUENCE
Steps 1-6: Fuse Box Harness
1. Locate the access hole on the driver side rear of the truck bed. If needed, remove the
grommet. Feed the terminal end of the Fuse Box Harness down below the truck bed
through the access hole until the harness extends below the truck fender. [Fig 1]
2. Locate the aftermarket CHMSL (Center High Mounted Stop Light) circuit wire located
between the rear bumper and the spare tire. [Fig 2]
3. Remove the plastic end from the CHMSL circuit wire to expose the blunt end of
the wire.
4. Strip 1/8" – ¼" of insulation from the CHMSL circuit wire.
5. Crimp the Fuse Box Harness wires to the CHMSL circuit wire using the shrinkable
butt splice.
6. Secure the Fuse Box Harness to the CHMSL Connector with zip ties.
Steps 7-9: Battery Harness
7. Connect the Battery Harness to the power and ground wires of the fuse box harness
using the pre-installed connectors.
8. Route the Battery Harness up to the battery and connect. Avoid any areas that get hot,
that move, or are sharp. Use provided zip ties to secure where needed.
9. Secure the Battery Harness using the provided zip ties to secure where needed.
Steps 10-11: Test System
10. Tube light on/off
11. Center High Mounted Stop Light (CHMSL) - Turn vehicle on
*Make sure surroundings are clear before performing these tests.
NOTE: CHMSL should not fl ash when brake is not pressed. Check connections of CHMSL
fi lter harness if fl ashing occurs when brake is not pressed.
• Step on Brake – CHMSL ON
• Left Turn w/ Brake – CHMSL ON
• Left Turn w/out Brake – CHMSL OFF
• Right Turn w/ Brake – CHMSL ON
• Right Turn w/out Brake – CHMSL OFF
• Hazards – CHMSL FLASHES
• Reverse w/ Brake – CHMSL ON
• Reverse w/out Brake – CHMSL OFF
