OVERALL TIPS ON JUICING
1. For best results, use predominantly fresh vegetables and fruits. The softer the
vegetable and riper the fruit, the thicker and less clear the juice might be.
2. We recommend that you always wash fruits and vegetables, peel them
(if needed), and dry them thoroughly, before juicing. The longer fruits and
vegetables are stored, the more vitamin and nutrients are lost from your drink.
3. Cut fruits and vegetables into strips for juicing best results. Roll leafy
vegetables into clumps prior to feeding them into the feed chute.
4. If cucumbers appear waxy, peel before juicing. Other fruits which should be
peeled prior to juicing are; pineapples, melons, mangos, papayas and citrus
and any fruit with skin that you cannot eat. Also remove all pits and hard
seeds from the fruit such as peaches, cherries, mangos, etc.
5. When purchasing foods that are in season, consider that they are less
expensive than purchasing off season fruit –they also taste much fresher.
6. Using organic and seasonal produce for juicing is highly recommended as the
produce grown without synthetic fertilizers and chemicals are the healthiest
for the body. This is an important element when juicing whole foods.
7. Freshly extracted fruits and vegetables is a great way to purge the body of
toxins and assist in weight management.
8. When juicing, it is recommended that you juice softer (such as grapes,
strawberries and pears) produce at a Low Speed ("1") and juice the harder
produce (such as carrots, leafy greens and apples) at a High Speed ("2").
Please refer to the Speed Selector Table, page 8.
9. Combine leafy greens with a variety of fruit for best results in extracting the
greatest amount of juice.
10. Use a combination of fruits and vegetables that have a high sugar content to
help your vegetable juice to have an even balance.
11. Use your own personal taste preference of which fruit and or vegetable
combinations make for delicious juices. All recipes provided in this manual are
to be used as a guideline. Be creative with combinations as the possibilities
are endless.
12. To make natural soda, blend freshly fruit juices with sparkling or seltzer water.
13. For great smoothies, try combining your fresh juice in a blender with other
foods, such as, bananas and yogurts. Note: Please do not insert bananas,
avocados or coconuts into the Fagor Enerjuicer.
