tighten to expand in hole.
Bring the tailstock live center into the blank
for support. Lock in place.
Turn the wood down. Not too thin of a wall so
not to crack the body.
Sand and finish the wood.
Slide the live center and turn the end to your
design (can be any length).
Final sand & finish the end.

Turning the Lower Blank:
Mount the drill chuck into the headstock.
Mount the Jam chuck in tightly.
Insert the blank over the center of the rubber
jam and tighten.
Bring the tailstock mandrel saver into the
protruding screw end at the jam chuck for
support. Lock in place (see DIAGRAM D).
Turn the wood down. Not too thin of a wall so
not to crack the body.
Sand and finish the wood.
Untighten the blank and slide over to clear
half of the space inside (see DIAGRAM E).
Retighten.
Use a scraper or a parting tool to enlarge the
hole as necessary for the lower mechanism to
slide inside.
Untighten the blank and turn around halfway
over the rubber to enlarge the hole in the
opposite side if necessary.
Test for the mechanism to slide in.

pour le soutenir. Verrouillez en position.
Tournez le carrelet. Veillez à ce que les parois ne soient pas trop
minces pour éviter que le corps craque.
Poncez et appliquez un agent de finition sur le bois.
Glissez la pointe vive et tournez l'extrémité selon la silhouette de
votre choix (la longueur n'a pas d'importance).
Poncez une dernière fois et appliquez un agent de finition sur
l'extrémité.

Tournage du carrelet inférieur :
Insérez le mandrin porte-foret dans la poupée fixe.
Fixez-y fermement le mandrin de serrage.
Glissez le carrelet sur le bouchon en caoutchouc jusqu'au centre
et serrez.
Amenez le protège-mandrin de la poupée mobile contre
l'extrémité saillante de la vis du mandrin de serrage pour
soutenir le carrelet. Verrouillez en position (consultez le
DIAGRAMME D).
Tournez le carrelet. Veillez à ce que les parois ne soient pas trop
minces pour éviter que le corps craque.
Poncez et appliquez un agent de finition sur le bois.
Desserrez le carrelet et tirez de manière à dégager la moitié de
l'espace à l'intérieur (consulter le DIAGRAMME E). Serrez à
nouveau.
Utilisez un racloir ou un outil à tronçonner pour agrandir le trou,
au besoin, pour pouvoir y glisser le mécanisme.
Desserrez le carrelet et tournez-le jusqu'au centre du bouchon
de caoutchouc pour agrandir le trou à l'extrémité opposée, au
besoin.
Vérifiez si le mécanisme s'insère dans le carrelet.
