Preparing the wood for turning
Cut the blank into 2 sections
Lower Blank – 2-¼" Long (min) – Drill Through
Upper Blank – 3" Long (min)
NOTE: Blank can be longer or shorter subject
to your design.
Mark the center of each blank with a small
punch.
Drill the hole (either on a lathe or a drill press)
with a 2.04" bit.
Drill each blank according to DIAGRAM B.

Turning the upper blank:
Mount the 3 Jaw drill chuck into the
headstock.
Mount the Jam chuck in tightly.

Préparation du bois pour le tournage
Coupez le carrelet en deux parties
Carrelet inférieur – 2 ¼ po de longueur (min.) – percez un trou
traversant
Carrelet supérieur – 3 po de longueur (min)
REMARQUE : Le carrelet peut être plus long ou plus court selon
le modèle de votre choix.
Faites une marque au centre de chaque carrelet à l'aide d'un
petit poinçon.
Percez le trou (sur un tour à bois ou à l'aide d'une perceuse à
colonne) avec une mèche de 2,04 po.
Percez chaque carrelet comme l'illustre le DIAGRAMME B.
DIAGRAMME C / TOURNAGE DU CARRELET SUPÉRIEUR
Tournage du carrelet supérieur :
Insérez le mandrin porte-foret à trois mors dans la poupée fixe.
Fixez-y fermement le mandrin de serrage.
Glissez le carrelet sur le bouchon en caoutchouc et resserrez de
