to it;
b) using the product in a field of application other than as described in paragraph
TECHNICAL DATA.
4 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Attention: Installing a protective device is not sufficient to ensure operator
safety or compliance with machine safety standards or directives. Before installing a
protective device, perform a specific risk analysis in accordance with the key health
and safety requirements in the Machinery Directive. The manufacturer guarantees
only the safe functioning of the product to which these operating instructions refer, and
not the functional safety of the entire machine or entire plant.

4.1 General conditions
- Please read these operating instructions carefully before installation to ensure pro-
per operation of the device and the safety of the application. Please contact our Tech-
nical Office (see paragraph SUPPORT) for any remaining issues or questions.
- The general engineering rules, specific national regulations and the applicable direc-
tives must be observed when selecting and using the devices.
- The utilization implies compliance and knowledge of the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU.
For use in potentially explosive areas, the installation rules stipulated by the technical
rules of the area for which the device is designed must be observed.
- Failure to comply with the requirements of the operating instructions or incorrect use
of the device during operation can lead to the damage of the device and the loss of
the safety function performed by the device itself. This will result in termination of the
warranty on the item and will release the manufacturer from any liability.
- Store the products in their original packaging, in a dry place with temperature betwe-
en -40°C and +70°C
Attention: Before proceeding with the installation of the device, ensure that the
markings on the product are compatible with the ATEX rating of the site where the
device will be used. Failure to comply with this requirement can cause serious injury
to
persons

4.2 Instruments
Normal screwdrivers and tool keys are required for the installation of these devices.
4.3 Electrical parameters
Attention: The electrical parameters are indicated on the product and in the
catalogue and must be strictly observed.
Maximum nominal voltage
Maximum thermal current Ith 6 A
4.4 Installation
The device can be fastened in any position.
Always use the same number of screws as the number of holes on the housing when
mounting the device. Install the screws with medium resistance thread locker with the
number of threads engaged being equal to or greater than the screw diameter. The
device must never be fixed with fewer screws than holes available on the housing. The
diameter and property class of the screws must be suitable for the expected loads.
Tighten with a torque of between 2 and 3 Nm.
- Tighten the cover, head and lever screws with a torque of between 0.8 Nm and 1.2
Nm.
- Do not exceed the maximum actuation travel.
4.5 Installation requirements
- Do not perform any operation inside the device when there is voltage.
- Maintenance in the ambient temperature range (-20° C to +70° C) and compliance
with the instructions provided with the device are requirements for proper operation.
- During installation and connection, make sure that the conductors are correctly po-
sitioned and clamped in the terminals.
- Tighten the internal conductor terminals with a torque of between 0.6 and 0.8 Nm.
- Always use a cable gland suitable for a potentially explosive use environment and
for the cable section. Pursuant to EN 60529, the cable gland must have a degree of
protection IP at least equal to or greater than the IP of the device. The cable glands
must be cable glands for Ex equipment or Ex components and must not invalidate
the specific features of the device's protection type
- At the end of the wiring, check that no contaminating element has been introduced
inside the device.
- When the ambient temperature is higher than 60°C, the cables, cable glands and
conductors must be able to withstand a temperature that is higher than the ambient
temperature plus 10°C
- Do not disassemble the device. If it is necessary to adjust the head of the device,
reposition the head in the base with greatest care after adjusting it.
- Before closing the device cover, verify the correct positioning of the gaskets.
- Verify that the electrical cables, wire-end sleeves, cable numbering systems and any
other parts do not obstruct the cover from closing correctly or if pressed between them
do not damage or compress the internal contact block.
- During and after the installation do not pull the electrical cables connected to the
device. If excessive tension is applied to the cables (which are not supported by an
appropriate cable gland), the contact block of the device may be damaged.
- The general installation and assembly requirements described in EN 60079-14
must be complied with.
- To connect the external ground cable, use an eyelet terminal.
- When the wiring is complete, and before activation, verify that the device identifica-
tion code corresponds both on the cover and on the housing.
