1. Fascial door removal – Using a 7 mm socket or T10 torxbit remove (2) bolts from fascia door. Keep the fasteners and door for reinstallation.
2. Remove sensor plug – Unplug the sensor plug on driver side behind bottom fascia.
3. Trim bottom panel – Using a tape measure, marker, and die grinder, measure, mark, and trim the bottom panel as shown in Figure 3.
4. Hitch installation – Feed the carriage bolts ① and spacers ② to attachment holes through access holes using the pull wires ⑤, see Figures 1
& 2. Use a die grinder to enlarge the feeding hole if necessary. Leave pull wires attached. Raise the hitch into position and fe ed carriage bolts
through bracket holes, see Figure 1. Remove the pull wires and loosely install conical washers ③ and hex nuts ④ to the hitch.
5. Tighten all 7/16-14x1.75 fasteners with torque wrench to 50 ft.lb. (68 N*m).
6. Reinstall the sensor connector and fascia door.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which
has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with
safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
