5. Remote Control

A special compartment is provided for the remote control (fig.1 #4), so that it does not
need to lie around while it is not being used. Open the compartment by pressing the left
part (in the middle) of the compartment door until you hear a click. Release the door
and it will swing open. The door has a basket for the remote control on the inside.
If the remote control will not be used for a long time, remove its batteries before putting
it into its compartment.
The remote control display features the same information as the display on the device
itself, except for the error notifications (see fig.4). The arrow in the upper right corner
appears when a button on the remote control has been pressed to indicate the
command has been sent ; it disappears after a few seconds.
The remote control also features the same command buttons as the device itself,
except for the temperature button, which is split in 2 here.
The remote control operates on 2 AAA batteries (battery compartment at the rear).
6. Accessories & Maintenance
Air exhaust pipe (included)
When using the device in cooling mode, make sure to connect the air exhaust pipe to the ventilation air outlet (fig.2
#8) by means of the adapter. Lead the pipe to an open window or door so that the hot air does not return in the room.
The pipe can be extended form 0.6 to 2 metres ; however, the device will work more efficiently when the pipe is
shorter. Make sure the pipe is never distorted or blocked. If this should occur and hot air flows back into the device,
the internal temperature sensor will cause the device to stop working. Do not extend the pipe longer than 2 meters or
add extensions to it.
Dehumidification – water tank / drainage pipe (not included)
When using the unit to dehumidify the air, the device will produce condensed water. This can be collected in the
water tank (fig.1 #5) or can flow away through a drainage pipe.
When the water tank is being used and it is full, the buzzer will sound 20 times, the error code "E4" will be displayed
on the LCD and the device will stop working. Empty the water tank immediately. Never remove the tank while the
device is switched on! Clean the tank once in a while with hot water and a neutral detergent.
To connect a drainage pipe, remove the rubber plug from the drainage connection (fig.2 #7). Do not throw away the
plug since you will need it to use the EAC12 without drainage pipe. Connect the drainage pipe to the output and lead
it to where the water can safely flow away. Make sure the pipe is never distorted or squeezed.
If the EAC12 will not be used for a longer period of time, make sure all condensed water is removed.
Air filter cleaning
Loosen the screw at the top of the air filter cover (fig.2 #6) and remove the air filter. Wash the air filter by immersing it
into warm (±40°C) water with a neutral detergent. Afterwards, rinse the filter thoroughly and let it dry in a shaded
place. Put the filter back and fasten the cover with the screw at the top.
General maintenance
1. The housing and visible parts should not be deformed, modified or tampered with.
2. Moving mechanic parts must not show any signs of wear and tear.
3. The power cable must not show any damage. Have a qualified technician maintain the device.
4. Disconnect the device from the mains prior to maintenance activities.
5. Wipe the device regularly with a moist, lint-free cloth. Do not use alcohol or solvents.
