An empty backup battery may cause the internal clock
to stop in SmartRelays. We therefore recommend
checking the time on the clock at regular intervals. A
backup battery will last for about ten years if the
power supply to the SmartRelay is not interrupted.
This battery should be replaced on a regular basis if
SmartRelay draws on the backup battery at regular
intervals due to frequent power failures.
