4. Safety Instructions and Danger Warnings
:
Note
A little static electricity (especially when
used on carpet) is normal. This can be discharged
when touching the appliance. This is comparable
to the static electricity in a car and is not danger-
ous.
WARNING: Packaging materials are
not children's toys! Children should
not play with plastic bags!
There is a risk of suffocation!!
General safety advice for electrical tools
Please read all instructions and warnings
carefully. Failure to comply with instructions
and warnings may result in an electric shock,
fire and/or serious injury. Please carefully retain
the instructions and the warnings. The term
"appliance" means an electrically powered de-
vice either through mains operation (with power
cord) or battery operated (cordless) power.
4.1 Place of Use
Keep the work are clean, tidy and well-lit. Untidy
and dark areas are hazardous. The appliance
must not be operated in explosive areas such
as in the vicinity of flammable liquids, gases or
dusts. The appliance can generate sparks,
whichmay cause the dust or fumes to explode.
When working with the appliance, other people,
especially children, should always keep a safe
distance. Distraction by others can cause you to
lose control of the device.
4.2 Electrical Safety
The mains voltage must always correspond with
the relevant power supply details on the ap-
pliance's nameplate. The plug must match the
socket outlet. The plug must be modified in any
way.
Do not use adaptor plugs with earthed appli-
ances. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets
will reduce risk of electric shock. Ensure that the
circuit to which the device is connected has an
intact ground fault circuit interrupter. Avoid any
physical contact with earthed surfaces such as
pipes, radiators, cookers and refrigerators. There
is an increased risk of electric shock if your body
is earthed. Keep the appliance away from rain or
external moisture. If water gets into the appli-
ance from outside, there is an increased risk of
electric shock. Do not misuse the cable by using it
to carry the device, hang it up or pull the plug out
from the socket. Keep the cord away from heat,
oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or
tangled cables increase the risk of electric shock.
Always use an earth leakage circuit breaker. The
use of a residual current circuit breaker prevents
the risk of electric shock.
WARNING: Use only three-core extension lead if
an earth wire is connected.
4.3 Safety of People
Be alert, pay attention to what you are doing and
be careful when working with an electrical appli-
ance. Do not use the appliance if you are tried or
if you are under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication. A moment of inattention while oper-
ating the appliance may result in serious injury.
Avoid starting the appliance accidentally. Make
sure that the power is odd before connecting
it to the power supply. If you have your finger
on the switch when carrying the appliance or
the device is switched on and connected to the
power supply, this can easily lead to accidents.
