1. The following instructions should be used to install the underbed gooseneck hitch. Care and attention to detail will
ensure a quick and quality installation. Check parts against parts list to become familiar with parts in kit.
2. Raise rear of truck high enough to allow jack stands to be placed under rear axle tubes of truck axle on each side.
This will provide maximum room to install the underbed gooseneck hitch.
3. Once truck is safely lifted, removing the spare tire, any spare tire heat shield, and most rearward portion of the
exhaust system will aide in providing clearance for hitch installation. Note: this step is not necessary for hitch
installation but will make the installation easier. It is important to use caution when working around hot
exhaust systems.
4. Using a 10mm socket, remove the two bolts that attach the wire harness bracket to the cross member to prevent
damage when raising the Center Section (#1) into position. Re-install wire harness bracket after center section (#1)
is in place.
5. Using a 13mm socket, remove the four bolts to the heat shield above the rear axle. Heat shield will not be re-
installed to allow room for hitch kit. Bolts and heat shield should be returned to the vehicle owner.
6. On the Driver's Side and Passenger's Side of the vehicle, use the 5/8" Pullwire (#24) to pull a 5/8-11 x 1.75" GR8
Carriage Bolt (#8) and 5/8" Carriage Bolt Spacer (#9) through the frame rail as shown in Figure #6.
7. With Carriage Bolts (#8) pulled through the frame rails, install the Driver's Side and Passenger's Side Outer Frame
Brackets (#4 & #6) loosely using a 5/8"-11 Grade 8 Serrated Lock Nut (#10) on each of the Carriage Bolts (#8).
8. On the Driver's side of the vehicle, install the DS Inner Frame Bracket (#5) using two 5/8"-11 x 4.5" GR8 Carriage
Bolts (#11) through the outside of the DS Outer Frame Bracket (#4), installing two Frame Spacer Tube-Shorts
(#12), one on each bolt. Place DS Inner Frame Bracket (#5) on the inside of the frame rail. Install two 5/8"-11 GR8
Serrated Lock Nuts (#10) on the bolts. Hand tighten only. NOTE: Top flange surface of frame brackets should
be flush with the top surface of the frame rail when tightened.
9. On the Passenger's side of the vehicle, install the PS Inner Frame Bracket (#7) using two 5/8"-11 x 4.5" GR8
Carriage Bolts (#11) through the outside of the PS Outer Frame Bracket (#6) in the rearward holes. Install two
Frame Spacer Tubes-Short (#12), one on each bolt in the rear. Place PS Inner Frame Bracket (#7) on the inside of
the frame rail. Install two 5/8"-11 GR8 Serrated Lock Nuts (#10) on the bolts. Repeat sequence for the frontward
hole on the brackets using 5/8"-11 x 5.0" GR8 Carriage Bolt (#13), Frame Spacer Tube-Long (#14), and 5/8"-11
GR8 Serrated Lock Nut (#10). Hand tighten only. NOTE: Top flange surface of frame brackets should be flush
with the top surface of the frame rail when tightened.
