5. Battery and Accumulator Notices
• Batteries do not belong in the hands of children.
• Observe the proper polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the batteries/
accumulators.
• Do not leave the batteries lying around. Children or pets might swallow them! When
swallowed, contact a physician immediately!
• Leaking or damaged batteries/accumulators may cause caustic skin burns. Therefore
you should always wear suitable protective gloves!
• Batteries/accumulators may never be short-circuited, disassembled or thrown into the
fire. Danger of explosion!
• Common batteries may not be recharged. Danger of explosion! Only charge
accumulators!
• If the product is not used for longer periods of time (e.g. storage), remove the batteries
or accumulators inserted in the IR remote control in order to prevent damage through
leaking batteries/accumulators.
• Always exchange the entire set of batteries, do not mix full and half-full batteries.
Always use batteries of the same type from the same manufacturer.
• Never mix accumulators with batteries!
The IR remote control can also be operated with accumulators. Due to the lesser voltage,
however (battery = 1.5V, accumulator = 1.2V), the range is reduced and there may be
function disruptions (just like with weak batteries).
The lesser capacity of accumulators reduces the operating time and they have to be
exchanged more frequently than batteries.
For that reason, we recommend using high-quality alkaline batteries.
