DE-SCALING
Scale will inevitably build up as a consequence of operating the coffee machine. De-scaling is
normally required every 5-6 months. If water is very hard, de-scale the machine at shorter intervals.
To de-scale your machine, you can use any commercially available non-toxic, non-harmful de-
scaling product.
1. Switch off the machine
2. Remove the tank and empty it
3. Fill the tank with the de-scaling solution following the instruction on the product package
4. Remove the grid
5. Switch on the machine
6. Dispense 100 ml of water without waiting for the machine to have warmed up
7. Switch off the machine
8. Leave the de-scaling solution in for about 10-15 minutes, with the machine off.
9. Repeat the procedure from point 5 to 7 till the de-scaling solution till the tank is empty
10. Remove the water tank, rinse it accurately and fill it again with fresh water
11. Switch on the machine
12. Dispense water without waiting for the machine to have warmed up
13. When the tank is empty, switch off the machine
14. Fill the water tank again and repeat the procedure from point 12
15. When the second rinsing cycle is complete, fill up the tank again. The machine will now be
ready for use.
N.B.: Using a water scale filter on a regular basis will dramatically reduce scale build-up.
