SATA dry jet | 3
Prior to putting the unit/spray gun into operation, read the oper-
ating instructions completely and thoroughly. The stipulations
contained therein are to be respected in any case. After that, the
operating instructions are to be stored in a safe place, accessible
for every user of the equipment. The unit/spray gun may only be
put into operation by persons familiar with its use (professionals).
Inappropriate use of the unit/spray gun, modification of any kind
or combination with inappropriate other parts may cause material
damage, serious hazard to the user's, other person's or animal's
health or even death. SATA shall not take any responsibility for
such damages (e.g. failure to respect the stipulations laid out in
the operating instructions). The applicable safety, workplace and
worker health protection regulations of the respective country or
area/district in which the system/the spray gun is used are to be
respected in any case (e.g. the German Rules for the Prevention
of Accidents BGR 500 (BGV D25) and BGV D24 issued by the
Central Office of the Professional Trade Associations, etc.).
2. Fields of Application
With the SATA dry jet, water borne paints in particular can be
dried rapidly by blowing air at the coated surface. The SATA dry
jet is especially suitable for the dry-blowing of smaller surfaces
such as doors or fenders.
Note: When working with materials contain silicon, e.g. hammer
finish etc. silicon craters can appear when using the blow gun.
The use of this product in explosion hazard areas Zone 0 is
prohibited.
3. Functional Description
The compressed air required for the dryblowing is supplied at
the air connection (3). By opening the shut-off valve (2) the blow-
ing process is initiated. The air streaming through the specially
shaped blowing slit causes an underpressure which sucks in
further air in the area of the filter holder (4). Then the sucked
in air is cleaned by means of a stainless steel sieve (5) and led
onto the surface to be dried, together with the air streaming from
the blowing slit.
4. Operation
4.1 Putting into operation
Before putting the appliance into operation, the screws have to
be checked for tight fit every time. Before fixing the air hose to
the air connection, the hose should be blown clear. The air hose
must be solvent-resistant, able to stand a pressure of minimum
145 psi and show a total electric resistance of less than 1 million
Ohm. As an example, we can suggest SATA air hose (Art. No.
53090), 10 m long, with coupling and nipple. For work quarantee-
ing the work result, the SATA dry jet must only be operated with
cleaned and dried compressed air. The blow gun is connected
directly to a standard coupling by its nipple (3) and works at a
pressure of 36.3 - 43.5 psi.
4.2 Handling
Hold blow gun in working position and initiate blowing process
by opening the shut-off valve. Never aim blow gun to the floor as
this will send dust particles flying around. The object to be dried
is blown at diagonally from above with the SATA dry jet, where by
the blowing air should possibly have the same streaming direc-
tion as the booth air in order to achieve optimum results. The
blowing distance should be 30 - 50 cm.
5. Cleaning
The air sucked in from the surroundings is cleaned by means of
a stainless steel sieve (5). By pulling off the filter holder (4) which
is settled on the nozzle the stainless steel sieve can be removed
and cleaned. In case the blow gun gets dirty with paint matrials,
clean blow gun from the outside with thinner and brush. Never
All manuals and user guides at all-guides.com
immerse gun into thinner or ultra sound cleaning systems.
Attention! When using cleaning substances containing halogen-
ated hydrocarbons, such as e.g. 1.1.1 - Trichlorethane or Meth-
ylenechloride, chemical reactions can appear on the blow gun
(1.1.1 - Trichlorethane with a small quantity of water reacts to
hydrochloric acid). Thus the parts may ocidate, in extreme cases
the reaction may take place in an explosion. Therefore only use
cleaning fluids for your blow gun which do not contain the afore-
mentioned substances. Never use acid for cleaning.
6. Maintenance
Before every operation the sieve has to be checked for con-
tamination and, if necessary, to be cleaned according to point
4. Replace damaged and clogged sieves as described under
„Cleaning". Always disconnect gun from the air supply for any
maintenance or cleaning work.
7. Warranty
During the period of twelve (12) months from the date of original
purchase SATA will repair or, replace the product without charge
for parts or labour subject to the following conditions. The warranty
covers the value for production parts or defects in material dur-
ing the warranty period. The warranty does not include damages
caused by improper handling, normal wear and tear, mechani-
cal damages, faulty assembly, improper maintenance, unusual
spray materials, substitute materials, chemicals such as alkaline
solutions and acids, electro-chemical or electric influences, as
far as this damage is not the result of any error committed by
us. Abrasive spray material such as red lead and liquid grinding
material etc. reduce the lifetime of valves, packings, guns and
nozzles. Wear and tear damage caused by this are not covered
in this warranty. Units should be inspected upon delivery by the
consumer. Obvious damage must be reported within 14 days of
receipt of the unit to the supplier to avoid loss of the right to claim
notice of defects. Additional claims such as compensation are
excluded. This refers as well to damages caused during meet-
ings , training sessions, or demonstrations. Should the consumer
require immediate repair or replacement before a determination of
whether the affected unit is covered by the warranty, the repair or
the replacement will be made and charged at the current prices. If
it is determind that the item is covered by the warranty, a credit will
be issued for the repair or replacement. Replaced parts become
the property of SATA or their distributor. Notice of defects or other
claims do not entitle the consumer to delay or refuse payment.
Returned merchandise to SATA must be sent prepaid. All service
charges, freight and handling charges are to be paid by the con-
sumer. The charges made will be in accordance with the currently
existing pricing. Suretyships may not prolong the warranty period.
This warranty terminates upon unauthorized inference.
