turning the front ring with the other.
Open the jaws enough to allow the bit
to slide in. Turn the front ring the op-
posite direction to tighten the jaws on
the bit. Be sure the bit is centered in
the jaws. Tighten firmly by hand.

The position of the Auxiliary Handle
(3) can be rotated around the nose
of the Gear Housing (15). Loosen
the Handle by turning it counterclock-
wise, rotate the Handle as desired,
then tighten in place by turning the
Handle clockwise.

The Depth Gauge (60) can be ad-
justed to ensure that holes are drilled
to a predetermined depth. Turn the
Auxiliary Handle to loosen it, push the
Depth Gauge to the desired setting,
then re-tighten the Handle.
Work piece and Work area set up
1.
Designate a work area that is clean
and well-lit. The work area must not
allow access by children or pets to
prevent injury and distraction.
2.
Route the power cord along a safe
route to reach the work area without
creating a tripping hazard or exposing
the power cord to possible damage.
The power cord must reach the work
area with enough extra length to al-
low free movement while working.
3.
Secure loose work pieces using a
vise or clamps (not included) to pre-
vent movement while working.
4.
There must not be hazardous ob-
jects, such as utility lines or foreign
objects, nearby that will present a
hazard while working.

general Operating instructions
1.
Plug the Power Cord (57) into a suit-
able outlet.
2.
Press the Direction Lever of the Trig-
ger (56) to determine the rotation
direction of the Chuck (2). Press to
the right side for clockwise rotation.
Press to the left side for counterclock-
wise rotation.
3.
Squeeze the Trigger (56) to start the
tool. The Trigger has a variable speed
feature. Pressing it lightly will make
the tool operate slowly, pressing more
will cause the tool to operate faster.
High / Low Speed Selector (12)
4.
This tool will operate within two
different speed ranges. The low
speed range is 0 to 1000 RPM. The
high speed range is 0 to 2800 RPM.
Turn the High / Low Speed Selector
to "1" for the low speed range, or to
"2" for the high speed range.
