IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
When using electrical equipment, always follow the basic safety measures, including the following:
- Read the instruction manual closely before using the iron.
- Before connecting the steam iron to the mains power supply for the first time, check that the voltage
indicated on the electrical specification label corresponds to the voltage in your house.
- For domestic use only. Do not use for industrial purposes.
- Do not immerse the steam iron in water or other liquids.
- Do not pull the cable to disconnect it from the mains power supply. Instead, grip the plug and pull it gently
out of the wall socket.
- Make sure that the cable does not touch hot surfaces.
- Always unplug the steam iron from the power supply before filling the water reservoir or when emptying it
after use.
- Do not use the steam iron if it is not working correctly, if the cable or plug is damaged, or if it has fallen or
has otherwise been damaged. In order to avoid electric shocks, do not dismantle the steam iron. Instead,
take it to an authorized repair centre for it to be checked, repaired or adjusted mechanically as necessary.
- Be particularly careful when using the steam iron near children.
- Children must not use this electrical appliance.
- Do not leave the iron unattended while it is still hot, plugged in or on an ironing board.
- Position the iron on the ironing board with care so that it does not fall.
- Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water or steam.
- Avoid ironing broaches, zips, metal buttons etc to protect the base plate from becoming scratched.
- Do not place the steam iron on metal or rough surfaces. PRECAUTION: In order to avoid electrical overload,
do not use other high voltage appliances on the same circuit or from the same socket.
- The iron must be used and placed on a stable surface. When the iron is placed on its heel, make sure that
the surface on which it is placed is stable.
- This product must not be used by children or other people without help or supervision if their physical,
sensory or mental state prevents them from using it safely. Children must be supervised to ensure they do
not play with this product.
- To avoid risks, if the power cable is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorised repair
centre or by a qualified technician.
BEFORE USING THE STEAM IRON FOR THE FIRST TIME.
- Clean the sole plate with a soft cloth
- Some parts of the steam iron have been lightly greased and as a consequence the iron could give off a little
smoke when used for the first time. This will stop after a few minutes.
ADJUSTING THE TEMPERATURE
- First check whether the item of clothing to be ironed has a label with ironing instructions on it.
Always follow the instructions on the label.
- Group the items of clothing together according to the type of material: wool with wool, cotton with cotton
etc. Always start by ironing items that need the lowest temperatures first of all, and then go on to those that
require higher temperatures, as the iron heats up more quickly than it cools down.

- If the garment contains several types of fibres, start by ironing those materials that require a lower
temperature (for example, garments containing 60% polyester and 40% cotton must be ironed at the
temperature indicated for polyester (•) and without steam).
- Select the appropriate temperature by using the (+/-) temperature control buttons.

- If you have to refill the reservoir while ironing, first unplug the iron from the power supply. NOTE: the
steam iron can be used with tap water. However, if the tap water is very hard it is advisable to use distilled
water.
EMPTYING THE WATER RESERVOIR
- The water reservoir must be emptied after using the iron.
- Unplug the iron from the power supply.
- While the iron is still hot, hold it over the sink with the pointed end downwards so that the water drains out
into the sink.
- Shake the iron gently so that the last remaining drops of water come out.
- The heat of the iron will dry out any remaining water. NOTE: If you empty the iron once it has cooled
down, stand it on its heel, plug it in, adjust the temperature control to maximum and leave it to heat up for
minutes. Unplug the iron from the power supply.
SPRAYING
- Provided that there is sufficient water in the reservoir, you can use the spray button at any steam temperature
setting or when dry ironing.
- When ironing, press the spray button several times to activate the pump.
