Safety Recommendation
Make sure that the power supply is suitable for the adapter(s). The max. tolerance is 5%. For a 230Vac adapter, this
-
means that the power supply must not be lower than 220Vac.
Only use the adapter(s) that are supplied with the product.
-
-
At free sight, the signal can reach up to 80m. However, walls and other obstacles shorten the transmission distance.
The optimal distance is <25m.
Point the remote control to the infrared sensor and press the buttons firmly to make sure that the remote control
-
works properly. For some remote controls it might be necessary that you have to press the buttons for about 1
second.
-
The remote control can be used at a distance of 0.3m – 4.5m.
Make sure that the receiver and the transmitter are switched off prior to connecting them to a power source.
-
-
To avoid electrical shock do not expose the unit to water and other liquids.
Do not open the housing. It doesn't contain any user replaceable parts. Opening the housing would invalidate the
-
warranty and expose you to shock hazard.
Do not overload the mains sockets.
-
-
If a problem occurs, do not try to solve it yourself. Please contact your dealer.
Applications
The SkyTronic 2.4 GHz communication set is composed by a transmitter/receiver combination with all power and Scart
leads. This set is designed for wireless and interference-free transmission of audio and video signals. It is also possible to
return commands from an infrared remote control to the transmitter in order to control a VCR or a TV. The maximum
admissible distance is about 35m. This distance depends strongly on the conditions. Stone and concrete walls have an
attenuating effect and limit the transmissions range. It is also possible to transmit only the stereo audio signal of your HiFi
equipment. The required audio leads fitted with RCA connectors are available separately. You can connect several
receivers to one transmitter.
Installation
Place the transmitter close to the TV, VCR or HiFi installation. Connect the Scart lead marked VIDEO IN and AUDIO L+R
IN to the transmitter and connect the Scart connector to the TV or VCR. For the connection of a stereo HiFi installation,
you should use an appropriate audio lead fitted with RCA connectors. Plug the supplied adapter into a mains outlet and
into the transmitter TX2420. Set the ON/OFF switch to 'ON. If you want to use the return signal for an infrared remote
control, connect the IR transmitter cell (the small black round socket) to the IR OUTPUT socket. This contact is located on
the right side on the rear of the transmitter. Mount the IR cell in front of the IR reception 'eye' of your TV, video or HiFi set.
The receiver is installed in the same way. Use now the Scart lead marked VIDEO OUT and AUDIO L+R OUT. Channel
selection: You can select among 4 different channels in the 2.4 GHz communication band for an interference-free
transmission. However, transmitter and receiver must be set to the same channel.
Antennae
Transmitter and receiver are fitted with special round 2.4 GHz directional antennae. It is recommended to direct them as
accurately as possible after the installation. The infrared signal of your remote control is encoded and transmitted on the
frequency 434 MHz. To this end, the set is fitted with two rod antennae that don't need to be adjusted.
Remote control
It might be necessary to keep the buttons on the remote control pressed down a bit longer (about 1 to 2 seconds) for a
reliable signal transmission.
Note
This unit has been tested and approved according to the CE and FCC regulations. These regulations give protection
against interferences in domestic installations. This unit uses radio radiation. If the unit is not used in conformity with the
manual, it can cause interference in other domestic appliances. If interference occurs (the user can test this by switching
the unit on and off), we recommend you to take one of following steps:
-
Re-direct or re-locate the reception antenna differently.
Increase the distance between the troubled unit and the receiver.
-
-
Connect the appliance getting interference into another mains outlet than the receiver.
Contact your dealer or a professional radio/TV installer.
