MOUNTING OVER A JUNCTION BOX
NOTE: Knockouts are available for use with 3" or 4" octagonal
junction boxes.
1.
Loosen (2) screws on front cover and open cover.
2.
Disconnect two halves of the quick disconnect attaching the output
leads of the driver to the front cover.
3.
Open the cover to approximately a 45° angle. Remove cover from
back housing by sliding cover along axis of hinges. Set cover
aside for later use.
4.
Remove center plug from back housing.
5.
Drill out appropriate knockouts for mounting over chosen junction
box.
6.
Pull supply leads through center hole in back housing.
7.
Attach back housing to junction box using screws supplied by
others.
NOTE: For wet locations, a high grade caulking material, such as
silicone rubber, should be used around perimeter of back gasket
to seal between gasket and mounting surface.
Splice supply leads to fixture leads per Electrical Connections
8.
section.
9.
Replace front cover by reversing sequence followed in Step 3.
10. Attach clip on end of safety cable on front cover to hole in driver
mounting bracket.
11. Reconnect the two halves of the quick disconnect that were
disconnected in Step 2.
12. Close cover, being careful not to pinch any leads or the safety
cable, and tighten the screws loosened in Step 1.
MOUNTING USING 3/4" PLUG IN THE BACK
5.
Fixture is best mounted by drilling through (4) drill point locations
in corners of back housing. Housing is to be secured to mounting
surface using appropriate mounting hardware for the surface.
Mounting hardware supplied by others. Any unused holes in back
surface must be plugged. A high grade caulking material, such
as silicone rubber, should be used around all mounting holes
and center plug location. Teflon tape should be used to seal the
threads of any connector threaded into the threaded opening.
NOTE: Fixture can also be pendant mounted by threading
the customer supplied pendant into the 3/4" mounting hole on
the back housing. If using the center conduit hole for pendant
mounting, the wireway opening in the end of the pendant MUST
be filled with silicone to prevent water from entering the fixture
through the pendant. In addition, teflon tape should be used on the
conduit threads.
6.
Route the incoming power and ground leads through the hole
located in the back housing.
Splice supply leads to fixture leads per Electrical Connections
7.
section.
8.
Replace front cover by reversing sequence followed in Step 3.
9.
Attach clip on end of safety cable on front cover to hole in driver
mounting bracket.
10. Reconnect the two halves of the quick disconnect that were
disconnected in Step 2.
11. Close cover, being careful not to pinch any leads or the safety
cable, and tighten the screws loosened in Step 1.
