Recommended Installation Procedure
Locate the best position for the water filter where there is
easy access for filter cartridge changes and service. This
housing should be installed on the main water line right
after the water meter or pressure tank (see Fig B). Avoid
installing in cramped and tight spaces.
If you have a water softener, then the filter housing should
be installed before the softener to protect the softener
from sediment & dirt. However, if you have an iron filter,
then the housing should be installed AFTER the iron filter to
prolong the filter cartridge life.
If your water supply has higher turbidity (dirt), you may
choose to install two filter housings in series (refer Fig
C). In this case install coarse pore cartridge (such as 25
micron) first before the fine pore cartridge (such as 1
micron). Installing two units in series will
further enhance filtration efficiency without
adversely affecting water flow. Also, for
commercial applications, where cartridges
are replaced based on pressure drop,
installing a pressure gauge and water
sampling point after the filter housings (fig
C) is recommended.
Allow at least three (3) inches above and below
filter for clearance. Some water spillage may
occur during filter cartridge changes. Therefore
installing near a floor drain is preferable.
Step 1: Unscrew the sump from the head and put aside until later.
Step 2: Attach the mounting bracket
Mounting bracket (part # BH010-6) attaches the filter housing firmly to the wall and
prevents stress on the inlet/outlet connections. It is included with some model variants or
can be purchased from the same retailer where you purchased the unit. Alternatively, you
can order it directly from www.rainfreshstore.ca. Orders are typically shipped within 1
business day.
The mounting bracket comes with 4 self-tapping screws for attaching the
bracket to the filter head. Wall mounting screws are not included.
Orient the inlet and outlet of the head (marked on top of the head)
to match your plumbing.
Place the bracket on top of the head and align the 4 holes on the
bracket with the 4 holes on the head. The head holes do not have
threads.
Using a 1/2" socket ratchet partially screw in all 4 screws through
the metal washers. Tighten one set of opposite screws and then the other. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN
Using appropriate screws mount the bracket (with filter head attached) to the wall.
