CAB 20V PLUS
Speed adjustment
The speed can be adjusted between positions "1"
for low speed, "2" for medium speed and "3" for
high speed by turning the speed adjusting knob
(Fig. 7.1) accordingly.
WARNING
When operating the speed adjusting knob, make sure
that the operation switch is released in order to avoid
damage to the machine.
Blower operation
Hold the machine firmly with one hand (Fig. 8)
and perform the blowing operation by moving it
around slowly. When blowing near property that
could be damaged by projected debris, direct the
nozzle away from them. When performing an ope-
ration in a corner, start from the corner and then
move to wide area.
WARNING
When performing the blower operation, be sure to
remove the bag from the machine, and attach the no-
zzle in place for blowing.
Vacuum operation
Hold the machine firmly with one hand (Fig. 9)
and perform the vacuuming operation by moving
it around slowly. While operating the machine,
adjust the switch trigger so that the suction force is
appropriate for the work location and conditions.
WARNING
When performing the vacuum operation, be sure to
attach the bag and nozzle in place to the machine.
Check the bag frequently for wear or deterioration
and empty the bag before it becomes full by removing
the dust bag from the machine, and unzipping (Fig.
10.1) it to clean. Do not allow wet materials (e.g. wet
leaves) and foreign materials (e.g. large wood chips,
metals, glass, etc.) to be sucked into the machine.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Every six months to one year (depending on frequ-
ency and intensity of use), take your machine to the
nearest service station facility for the following
service operations:
Lubrication.
f
Mechanical inspection and cleaning (gears,
f
bearings, etc.).
Electrical inspection (switch, cord, brushes, etc.).
f
Testing to assure proper mechanical and electri-
f
cal operation.
WARNING
For your own safety, turn the switch off and remove
plug from its power source outlet any operation of
maintenance on the machine. Keep your appliance
clean.
AIR INLETS
Make sure that all cooling air inlets of the machine
are clean and free of debris.
SUCTION INLET
Make sure that the suction inlet (Fig. 11) of the ma-
chine is clean and free of debris.
BATTERY
To maintain battery to its maximum performance:
Recharge the battery before completely dischar-
f
ged. Always stop operating the machine and
recharge the battery when you notice a loss of
power.
Never recharge a fully charged battery as over-
f
charging shortens the battery life.
Recharge the battery at room temperature (5°C
f
- 45°C). Let a hot battery cool down before rechar-
ging it.
When not using or recharging the battery, remo-
f
ve it from the tool or the charger.
Recharge the battery if you do not use it for a
f
long period (more than six months).
Do not use non-rechargeable batteries.
f
Do not crush, open or burn the battery. Exposure
f
to potentially harmful materials may occur.
In case of fire use C0
f
The battery must be charged by a constant
f
current, constant voltage transformer.
Store the battery in a dry, well-ventilated area
f
within the recommended limits of 10°C to 30°C.
Allow the battery to return to normal temperatu-
re if it has been stored at 5°C or less, before using
or charging it.
During disposing the battery should be recycled
f
separately from the charger and the machine,
according to electrical and electronic equipment
waste directive. Insulate the terminals with adhe-
sive insulating tape to prevent a short circuit, fire
or explosion occurring.
POWER CORD
To avoid shock or fire hazard, if the power cord of
the charger is worm or cut, or damaged in any way,
have it replace immediately. Electrical connection
cables often suffer insulation damage. Possible
causes are:
1. Punch points when connection cables are run
through window or door gaps.
2. Kinks resulting from incorrect attachment or
laying of the connection cable.
3. Cuts resulting from running over the connecting
cable.
4. Insulation damage resulting from forcefully
pulling out of the wall socket.
5. Cracks through aging of insulation.
6. Such defective electrical connection cables must
not be used as the insulation damage makes
them extremely hazardous.
CLEANING
Use a small soft brush to clean the outside of the
unit. Do not use strong detergents. Household
cleaners that contain aromatic oils such as pine and
lemon and solvents such as kerosene can damage
plastic housing or handle. Wipe off any moisture
with a soft cloth. Remove dust, dirt and machining
residues with an appropriate vacuum cleaner if ne-
cessary.
