CAB 20V PLUS
MOVING PARTS HAZARDS
Moving parts can cause serious injury. Avoid con-
tacting these parts when they are still in rotation/
stroke and make sure that you keep anything that
could be trapped in the operating machine, such
as loose hair and clothing, away. Do not touch the
moving parts before they come in complete stop.
NOISE AND VIBRATION HAZARDS
The noise levels shown in these instructions are
the maximum levels for use of the machine. Insu-
fficient maintenance has a significant impact on
vibration and noise emissions. Consequently, it
is necessary to take preventive steps to eliminate
possible damage due to high levels of noise and
stress from vibration. Maintain the machine well,
wear ear protection devices, anti-vibration gloves
and take breaks while working. Operating the ma-
chine with a stable speed and griping the handle
firmly with suitable force can decrease the vibra-
tion level. Low engine speed means low-noise le-
vel, so operate the machine at the lowest engine
speed necessary to accomplish the task. During a
working day, you shall take frequent and adequa-
te breaks to prevent damage from vibration and
damage to the ears. Prolonged exposure to vibra-
tions can cause injuries and neurovascular disor-
ders (also called "Raynaud's syndrome" or "white
hand"), especially to people suffering from circu-
lation disorders. The symptoms can regard the
hands, wrists and fingers and are shown through
loss of sensitivity, torpor, itching, pain and disco-
loring of or structural changes to the skin. These
effects can be worsened by low ambient tempe-
ratures and/or by gripping the handgrips excessi-
vely tightly. If the symptoms occur, the length of
time the machine is used must be reduced and a
doctor consulted.
WORKING AREA HAZARDS
Thoroughly inspect the whole work area and use
a rake or yard brush to manually loosen debris
and remove anything that could be a hazardous
source to you or cause damage to the machine.
Keep work area clean and tidy. Do not operate the
machine in wet environment conditions or when
the machine itself is wet. Keep the machine away
from flammable material. Check that there are no
bystanders, animal or items that could be dama-
ged within the machine's range of action.
Operate only in well ventilated areas. Wood chips
and saw dust can be a health hazard when inha-
led or when in contact with the eyes. Always wear
appropriate half-mask respirator and protective
goggles, when working with such materials and
use a dust extraction device. If devices are pro-
vided for the connection of dust extraction and
collection facilities, ensure these are connected
and properly used.
Work only in daylight, or with suitable artificial li-
ght, in good visibility conditions. Try not to cause
any noise disturbance, by only using this machine
at reasonable times of the day.
Take on a firm and well-balanced position. Where
possible, avoid working on wet, slippery ground
or in any case on uneven or steep ground that
does not guarantee stability for the operator.
Storing of tools that are not in use should be done
in a dry and safe place away from the operating
machine and out of the reach of children.
Do not direct the blower and any debris towards
bystanders, animals or property and do not blow
or vacuum materials that could be a source of ha-
zard.
REMAINING HAZARDS
The machine was built using modern technology
and in accordance with recognized safety rules.
Even when all safety measures are in place, some
remaining hazards, which are not yet evident, may
be present. The operator should use common sen-
se and take necessary precautions to avoid risk
due to remaining hazards.
PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS
INTENDED USE
This machine is designed and manufactured for
light cleaning by blowing or vacuuming. It is not
designed for heavy commercial use.
Any other use differing from the above-mentio-
ned ones could be hazardous, harm people and/or
damage things and the machine itself.
IMPROPER USE
The machine must not be used for machining ha-
zardous materials, e.g. accumulation of inflam-
mable or explosive products and any other object
that could be dangerous to the machine itself as
well as the operator, bystanders, animals or pro-
perty.
Other examples of improper use may include, but
are not limited, to operation of the machine:
Without the original accessories supplied by the
f
manufacturer.
With original accessories but in a way not in accor-
f
dance to the instructions.
Without original spare parts.
f
With unauthorized modifications.
f
According to the applicable product liability laws,
the manufacturer of the device does not assume
liability for damages to the product or damages
caused by the product that occurs due to:
Improper handling no complied with the opera-
f
ting instructions.
Repairs by third parties and not by authorized ser-
f
vice technicians.
Installation of non-original spare parts.
f
Non-intended use.
f
Electrical system breakdown due to power of the
f
equipment in a manner not compliant with the
electric and VDE regulations.
Electrical system breakdown due to use of battery
f
or charger not approved by the manufacturer.
