Preparatory measures
The operator may only be installed if:
- the details on the power rating plate of the operator are compatible with your mains voltage supply
- the operator is undamaged
- the ambient temperature is between -10°C and +60°C
- the installation location is not more than 1000m above sea level
- the correct protection category has been selected
Ensure that the output shaft and the surfaces to which the equipment is to be fixed are completely free of
corrosion protection agents (use a commercially available solvent). The solvent must not be allowed to come
into contact with the sealing lips of the shaft gaskets, or material damage may be caused. Do not use abrasive
cleaning agents.
To avoid shaft breakages and therefore also serious and fatal injuries, the following points must
be observed when mounting the equipment:
A prerequisite for an adequately designed shaft with regard to endurance strength is a tensionless installation,
and undisplaceable supports for the bearings in the drive unit and for any necessary additional shaft supports in
each direction, supplied as required by the user.
The machine frame and the force transmission points must be designed, in terms of structural stability and
strength, to withstand the supporting forces. The drive unit housing, with two bearings, together with all further
bearing points rest on the same stable frame, which is fixed in a single operation to the bearing surfaces. The
person mounting the equipment must ensure that the deformation of the frame under loading does not nega-
tively affect the shaft loading. The screws should not be thoroughly tightened until the drive unit is precisely and
accurately positioned. The equipment may only be mounted in damp rooms or outdoors if agreed in advance
with the manufacturer! The manufacturer must also be consulted if the operators are stored for longer periods!
