any parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before
attempting to use this tool
Operating Instructions
Warning:
Never fit any attachment with a maximum speed lower than
the no load speed of the machine.
Fitting a drill bit
1. Open the Chuck (1) jaws by rotating the front chuck ring clockwise
2. The drill bit can then be placed into the chuck
3. Tighten the chuck jaws by rotating the front chuck ring anti-clockwise
NOTE: Do not run the drill whilst tightening or releasing the chuck
4. When the drill bit is held tightly, test that it is central by running the
drill. The drill bit should rotate smoothly with no 'wobble'. If the drill bit
is not central, release the chuck, and retighten
Direction control
• The direction of rotation can be set using the Forward/Reverse Selector (4)
• To make the drill rotate anti-clockwise, push the forward/reverse selector
to the right
• To make the drill rotate clockwise, push the forward/reverse selector
to the left
• When the forward/reverse selector is in the central position, the drill is locked
WARNING: Do not attempt to move the forward/reverse selector when the
drill is running
Switching on
• Squeeze the Trigger Switch (5) gently to start the drill
NOTE: The speed of the drill is controlled by the movement of the trigger,
the further the trigger is depressed, the faster the drill will run
Torque control
NOTE: This drill is fitted with a Torque Control Clutch (2). This limits the
torque output of the drill, enabling screws to be driven without the risk of
damage.
NOTE: The clutch settings are indicated by the symbols on the clutch ring.
• Rotate the clutch ring to select the correct torque
• For drilling, rotate the clutch ring to the drill symbol. This will lock the
clutch for maximum torque
Checking battery level
• This drill is fitted with a Battery Level Indicator (3)
• To check the charge remaining in the battery, press the button below
the indicator
• The battery charge level will be displayed on the LCD screen
6
Charging the battery
NOTE: Ensure the Battery (6) is fully discharged before charging. Charge the
battery at room temperature (approx 20°C).
1. Place charger onto battery and connect charger to the power supply.
Both red and green lights should illuminate to indicate the battery is
now being charged
2. If only red light illuminates: the battery cannot take a charge or the
battery is not connected properly. Check connection and/or replace
battery
3. Charging time, from empty battery to fully charged, is approx. 3 - 5
hours
4. After charging, allow 15 minutes for the battery to cool before use
5. Disconnect charger from the power supply and store in a clean, dry
environment out of the reach of children
6. Do not leave batteries on charge for extended periods and do not store
batteries on charge
IMPORTANT: Failure to follow the correct charging procedure may result in
permanent damage to the batteries
