When laying the cables in the boot, use rubber grommets or similar to ensure that
the interior of the vehicle remains sealed.
When laying cables in door frames etc., make sure that no safety-related equipment
(such as side airbags) is affected. The cables must not be laid within the activation
range of the airbags.
8.1 Electrical Connection
• First of all connect the 18 meter connection cable supplied to the camera using the connector plug.
• Lay the 18 meter connection cable in the vehicle interior in a way that prevents water from entering
the inside of the vehicle.
• Connect the power supply cable's socket with the free plug on the 18 meter connection cable.
• Connect the power supply cable's plug with the monitor connection socket.
• A white lead extends out of the power supply cable. When driving backwards, the system is automa-
tically activated via the reversing lights.
• Measure the correct cables with a voltmeter or a diode test lamp when the reverse gear is engaged
and the ignition is on. The headlights and the indicators should be off. If you were able to find the right
cable, turn the ignition off again.
To ensure safe connections between the cables, it is advisable to use the cable connectors supplied.
Using the provided cable connectors:
A) Insert the cable to be tapped.
B) Insert the cable to be connected to it.
C) Lock the connector manually.
• Connect the white lead that extends out of the power supply cable with the positive lead for the rever-
se light.
• Connect the low voltage plug - on the connection cable with the cigarette lighter plug - with the low-
voltage socket of the connection cable for the power supply.
• Insert the cigarette lighter plug into the cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle. The red LED above
the cigarette lighter plug will light up.
