Safe Operating Practices
28. Never cook without the drip pan installed. Hot grease can leak down and produce a fire or explosion.
29. Clean grease trays regularly to prevent grease fires.
30. Spiders and insects like to nest in the burners, venturis, valves and orifices of a side burner, disrupting
the gas flow. This very dangerous condition can cause a fire behind the control panel, damaging the side
burner and risking personal injury. If your side burner has been unused for a long time, inspect and clean
the burners, venturis, valves and orifices.
31. Clean the side burner with caution. Avoid steam burns; do not use a wet sponge or cloth to clean the
side burner while it is hot. Some cleaners produce noxious fumes or can ignite if applied to a hot surface.
32. Do not locate, store or operate the grill on an inclined plane. If you are using a grill cart, make sure you
lock the castor wheels before operating the side burner.
33. Do not use charcoal or lighter fluid on the side burner.
34. Do not move the appliance during use.
35. Do not use a power washer to clean the NewAge Gas appliances.
36. Always have an ABC Fire Extinguisher accessible — never attempt to extinguish a grease fire with water
or other liquids.
37. If the side burner is installed by a professional installer or technician, be sure that he/she shows you
where your gas supply shut-off is located. All gas lines must have a shut-off that is readily and easily
accessible. If you smell gas, check for gas leaks immediately. Check only with a soap and water solution.
38. Never remove the grounding prong from the plug or use this product with an ungrounded, 2-prong
adapter.
39. For personal safety, wear proper apparel while cooking.
