Safety
2.1
Intended use
The drum pumps are used for quick and save liquid transfer or emptying of tanks, bar-
rels and containers.
According to the design, they can pump liquids of all kinds, whether liquid, neutral,
aggressive or toxic.
Hand nozzles allow for convenient filling.
The pumps are used as mobile devices.
When using pumps type COMBIFLUX FP 314 in 1200 mm length with the battery motor
FBM-B 3100 a short-term power reduction may occur depending on medium and period
of use.
By default, the battery motor has integrated protection electronics. This principle pre-
vents overheating of the motor. Should in exceptional cases the permissible tempera-
ture of the engine be exceeded, the protection electronics reduces the engine power
(reduce speed). Once the temperature of the motor reaches the permissible range
again permanently, the engine itself returns to the pre-set speed.
Long period of use, a very high speed and also higher viscosity of the medium may lead
to overheating of the motor. In the short run it helps to switch off the motor and an oper-
ating break of 30 minutes. Afterwards, the pumping can continue.
Motor version with external start/stop: Remote control of the motor is possible with
external start/stop button.
2.1.1 Foreseeable misuse
Pump and accessory material must always be suitable for the product to be transferred
(see resistance chart).
Observe the operating instructions when changing the liquid.
Take possible chemical reactions and the resulting health hazards and material
damage into account.
Motor version with external start/stop: Do not apply external voltage to the socket for
external start/stop.
The drum pumps and the accessories are not intended to be used by uninstructed per-
sons or by persons with limited physical, sensory or intellectual capabilities, unless they
are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive instructions from that
person on how the device is to be used.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
2.2
Symbols and signs
Safety instructions are marked by
a safety sign and
a danger warning
This will help you to identify potential hazards, to avoid risks and to operate the
device safely.
In addition, the operating instructions contain instructions for hazard avoidance.
Danger warnings are classified in three categories according to the severity of a
potential injury. Different signal words are used according to the severity.
