This "Inverter" output bypass the built-in charge control-
ler. Please use quality power inverter that has proper
charging control function.
Only inverters may be connected to the inverter
socket (observe max. load)! Other devices must not be
connected as the battery may be over-discharged and
thus be damaged.
- USB output: Can be used to charge electronic devices that
get power from USB port (MP3 player, mobile phone,...).
y Battery capacity extension: "Battery" input at the back of the
y
power unit can be used to be connected to an external bat-
tery (12V battery only). This will increase the total capacity, not
just limited to the 7Ah of the built-in battery. Increased battery
capacity can help to extend the period of time you can operate
your applications. Simply attach one end of the battery clamp
lead wire (Serial # 5) to the "Battery" input, and the battery
clamp to the battery.
Make sure you connect with correct polarity. Please follow
the connection sequence:
A. Red cable (+)
B. Black cable (-)
For disconnecting use the reverse sequence.
Do not short circuit the battery clamp, fail to do so may
cause sparking or explosion.
Change of fuse:
y There are two fuses (10A normal car fuse) inside the power unit
y
to prevent accidental short-circuiting from damaging the power
unit. One for each cigarette lighter socket output. If the Power
unit stops functioning because of a blown fuse:
1. Switch off the Power Unit.
2. Release the 10 screws at back of the power unit using a long
screw driver.
3. Open the back cover.
4. Replace the blown car fuse by a good one.
5. Put the cover back on, and secure it with the 10 screws.
Maintenance
y During long-term storage without being charged, the battery
y
must be completely recharged every 4-6 months in order to pre-
serve complete and proper performance.
y Change battery. If you can operate your application for a much
y
shorter time it is the time that you need to replace the battery.
1. Swich off the Power Unit.
2. Release the 10 screws at back of the power unit using a long
screw driver.
3. Open the back cover.
4. Slide out the battery, and disconnect it from the sleeve con-
nector. Please follow the disconnection sequence:
A. Black cable (-)
B. Red cable (+)
5. Replace with a good battery, and connect the sleeve con-
nector back on. Make sure you connect with correct polarity.
Please follow the connection sequence:
Red cable (+)
Black cable (-)
6. Put the cover back on, and secure it with the 10 screws.
y Clean the surface of solar panel periodically with a soft cloth for
y
its best performance. Avoid contact with acid and alkali.
