Please observe the following instructions and information before and while using the
booster cable!
• Only batteries with the same voltage may be connected with the booster cable.
• The capacity of the current-emitting battery may not be significantly under the capacity of the
discharged battery.
• There must be no vehicle body contact between the broken-down vehicle and the jump-
starting vehicle.
• Keep all sources of ignition (open flame, electrical sparks, burning cigarettes) away from the
batteries.
• Do not bend over the starter batteries. The battery acid of the discharged battery is also
liquid at low temperatures. There is a danger of acid burns if skin contact is made.
• The discharged battery must not be disconnected from the on-board power supply during
the jump-starting process.
• Before connecting the booster cable, switch the ignition on both vehicles to "OFF".
• Apply the handbrake on both vehicles and put the gear stick into neutral position. In the
event of automatic gears, the gear selector lever must be put into "P" position.
• Place the booster cable in such a way that it cannot touch any turning parts in the engine
compartment of either car.
Connecting
1. First, connect the line with the red clamps to the PLUS POLE (+) of the discharged battery,
then to the PLUS POLE (+) of the donor battery.
2. Then, connect the line with the black clamps, first to the MINUS POLE (-) of the donor
battery and then to the vehicle mass of the broken-down vehicle (e.g. to the ground cable or
a bare part of the engine block), as far as possible from the battery.
3. Ensure that all four pole clamps are tightly fixed so that they cannot come loose when
starting the vehicles and come into contact with turning parts.
