"Start With a Mix" Recipes
Try these waffle variations made easy when prepared with a packaged mix.
NOTE: When using packaged pancake and waffle mix, the package directions for waffles
call for 2 cups of the packaged mix and 1

cups of milk or water. Some recipes then add

oil and eggs. If the following variations call to reduce or increase the liquid, it is referring to
the milk or water. Each recipe will make 3 to 4 cups of batter.
Banana-Pecan Waffles
Add 1 mashed banana and

Beer Batter Waffles
Replace all the liquid with beer.
Honey & Nut Waffles
Reduce liquid to 1 cup. Add

cup chopped nuts.

Applesauce Waffles
Reduce liquid by

cup. Add 1 cup of applesauce and

teaspoon cinnamon.

PB&J Waffles
Add 1 cup peanut butter. Increase liquid by

cup. Serve topped with melted jelly.

Cinnamon-Sugar Waffles
Combine 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Spray grids with cooking
spray. Pour batter onto grids. Sprinkle batter with some cinnamon-sugar before
closing lid.
Muffin Stix
Packaged muffin mixes can be used in your waffle maker. Mix according to
package instructions and bake.
Brownie Stix
Packaged brownie mixes can be used in your waffle maker. Mix according to
package's "cake" instructions.
Hushpuppy Stix
Whisk together 1 cup hushpuppy mix, 1 cup water, and 2 tablespoons oil. Let sit
5 minutes. Pour batter onto waffle maker.
