Wall plug transformers pose the potential risk of a fatal electric shock!
• The design of the wall plug transformer complies with Protection Class II. Use only
a standard mains socket as the power source for the wall plug transformer.
The mains socket into which the wall plug transformer is plugged must be easily
accessible.
• Use only the wall plug transformer supplied to power the audio extractor.
• Do not pull the wall plug transformer from the mains socket by pulling on the cable.
Hold it on the sides of the casing and pull it out of the mains socket.
• Do not touch any wall plug transformer that shows signs of damage; there is a
danger to life from electric shock!
First, switch off the mains voltage to the socket to which the wall plug transformer
is connected (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety
fuse or switch off at the corresponding RCD protective switch, so that the socket is
fully disconnected).
You can then unplug the wall plug transformer from the mains socket. Dispose of
the faulty wall plug transformer in an environmentally friendly way, do not use it any

Connection and commissioning
a) Setup and Connection
• Connect the HDMI input (10) via a suitable HDMI-capable cable to the HDMI output of a
playback device such as a Blu-ray player, game console, etc.
• If you want the HDMI signal to pass through a TV, for example, connect the HDMI output (9)
to the HDMI input on your TV.
• The two RCA sockets deliver the analogue stereo audio signal (red socket = right channel,
white socket = left channel). The sliding switch (5) must be on position "2CH LPCM".
• The TOSLINK connector (8) carries the digital optical audio signal. Here, the sliding switch
(5) must be either on "Bitstream" or on "2CH LPCM".
• Connect the analogue stereo output (6/7) or the optical digital output (8) to the corresponding
input of an amplifier for example.
• Connect the circular low voltage plug of the wall plug transformer provided to the correspond-
ing socket (4) of the audio extractor.
• Plug the wall plug transformer into a mains socket.
• Place the audio extractor on a solid, horizontal surface. •
furniture by using an appropriate underlay to avoid scratches and pressure marks.
b) Turning the audio extractor on/off
• Press the "ON/OFF" button (3) on the front of the audio extractor to switch it on or off.
• The Power LED (2) will go on, when the audio extractor is switched on.
• The "Link" LED (1) will go on, when the HDMI connection between HDMI input and HDMI
output has been established.
c) Selecting audio output or audio signal
The sliding switch (5) controls the EDID, so that the playback device (e.g. a Blu-ray player
or games console) makes the corresponding audio signal available (LPCM7.1, Dolby 5.1
stereo / 2 channel LPCM).
However, the audio signal that will be available is subject to the capabilities of the signal source
such as a Blu-ray player, and it naturally also depends on the available audio channel on a
Blu-ray, for example.
Depending on the position of the switch, the audio signal is passed through the the different
outputs of the audio extractor.
• Switch on "2CH LPCM"
All outputs (stereo analogue output, digital optical output and HDMI output) deliver a 2-chan-
nel audio signal (stereo audio signal).
• Switch position "Bitstream"
The digital optical output and the HDMI output deliver at most a Dolby digital 5.1 signal,
depending on the signal source. The analogue stereo output is functionless.
