c) Pressing the wireless doorbell button to trigger a ring tone
Press the button on the front of the wireless doorbell button. Press the button in until you hear
a click.
This action causes the piezoelectric technology to generate sufficient current to be able to send
the wireless signal.
Thanks to this technology, the wireless doorbell button needs neither a battery nor
another external power supply.
When the wireless chime receives the signal from the wireless doorbell button, the currently
selected ring tone plays. In addition, two blue LEDs flash behind the silver cover.
d) Registering the wireless doorbell button with the wireless chime
The manufacturer has already registered the wireless doorbell button with the wire-
less chime, so that the wireless chime reacts when the wireless doorbell button is
pushed. Therefore, a new registration is not normally required.
Should the wireless chime not react to the wireless doorbell button (although it is
nearby), however, you can execute the registration process as a test.
• To start the registration mode on the wireless chime, the chime must be plugged in and
ready to operate. Then press the registration button on the back of the wireless chime for
5 seconds.
• Press the wireless doorbell button within 30 seconds. If the wireless chime emits a ring tone,
the wireless doorbell button is registered.
If you press the registration button on the back of the wireless chime for more than
10 seconds, the wireless chime emits a ring tone; the registered wireless doorbell
button is deleted from the memory.
Range
The transmission range for the wireless signals between the wireless doorbell button and the
wireless chime is up to 100 metres under optimum conditions.
This value, however, is the so-called "open space range" (the range when wireless
doorbell button and wireless chime are visible to each other, without interfering influ-
ences).
In practice, however, there are walls, ceilings of rooms, etc. between the transmitter and the
receiver, which reduce the range accordingly.
Due to the different influences on the wireless transmission, no specific range can be guar-
anteed.
However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a single family house.
Sometimes the range can be considerably reduced due to:
• Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• Coated/metallised insulated glass
• Proximity to metallic & conductive objects (e.g., heating elements)
• Proximity to human bodies
• Devices on the same transmission frequency (e.g., baby monitoring systems, wireless cam-
eras, etc.)
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power supply units, computers
Maintenance and cleaning
• The product is maintenance-free for you. The product contains no parts that require servic-
ing. Therefore, do not dismantle it.
• Maintenance or repairs may only be performed by qualified personnel or a specialised
repair shop.
• Before cleaning, disconnect the wireless chime from the power supply. To do this, pull it
completely out of the mains socket.
• To clean the outside of the product, a dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient.
• Dust can be easily removed using a clean, soft and long-bristled brush and a vacuum
cleaner.
• Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions since
these could damage the housing or even impair operation.
