MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Before any maintenance or cleaning work, place
the chain saw on a level surface, switch off the
engine and remove the spark plug cap from the spark
plug.
Never touch the exhaust, spark plug, or other
metal parts of the engine while the engine is
running or immediately after turning off the engine.
Doing so can lead to severe burns or electric shock;
Sharpening a saw chain
You should sharpen the chain every time:
•
The sawdust is very fine (powder);
•
You need to apply more force to the cut than
usual;
•
The chain saw is not cutting straight;
•
You notice the chain saw is vibrating too much;
•
Fuel consumption is higher.
When you sharpen the chain:
•
Make sure the chain saw is secure;
•
Always wear work gloves;
•
Do not have the engine running;
•
Use a round file with the correct diameter for the
chain;
•
Reverse the guide bar from time to time to allow
a homogeneous wear;
•
Check that the slots where the chain runs along
the guide bar, are with the corners at 90°;
•
More rounded corners mean that the guide bar
must be replaced.
Checking the chain oil
After starting the engine, make the saw chain turn at a
medium speed and check if the oil (10W30) has spread,
as shown in the image:

Air filter cleaning
Dirty air filters reduce engine power, increase fuel
consumption and make start-ups more difficult.
Remove the filter. The filter can be opened in two
halves. It can be cleaned with a brush, washed with
petrol or compressed air (blown from the inside out).
The use of a dirty filter will restrict the air flow in the
carburetor affecting the performance of the pruning
chain saw.
Guide bar
When the guide bar is dismounted, remove all dirt from
the slots.
Add a little bit of grease to the bearing hole.
Checking and changing the spark plug
To ensure proper engine operation, the spark plug
should be clean and with adequate gap between the
electrodes.
There are several factors that can affect the operation
of the spark plug: incorrect carburetor adjustment and
fuel mixture, and dirty air filter. These factors cause
accumulations in the spark plug electrodes, which leads
to operating problems and difficult start-ups.
If the pruning chain saw is running low or shows
difficulties in starting, check the spark plug before
making any further inspections.
1. Remove the spark plug cap, unscrew the spark plug
with the supplied wrench and check that it is clean. If
dirty, clean the soot with a brush;
2. If the spark plug is "wet", with excess fuel, place a
clean cloth over the spark plug hole and pull the
recoil starter several times without the spark plug;
3. Measure the distance between the electrodes with
appropriate tools. The distance should be between
0.6-0.9 mm. If necessary, bend the electrode until
enough clearance is reached;
4. Install the spark plug with your hand to prevent
damage to the thread and tighten it to compress the
sealing washer, using the wrench provided;
5. If the spark plug does not produce any sparks, replace
it;
