Saw chain running/operation
During the first 20 operating hours, do not use the
pruning chain saw at maximum speed for long periods.
Before using the device for the first time, lubricate the
chain and the guide bar with oil.
Control the chain's tension frequently.
Procedures for pruning with ropes and shoulder
harness straps
Pruning chain saw operators working at a certain
height with the aid of ropes and shoulder harness
straps should not remain alone in the workplace.
Pruning chain saw operators must receive
instructions and training on safe pruning
techniques and on the use of ropes, carabiners and
harness straps.
Pruning chain saw users must be equipped with
safety devices such as ropes, harness straps,
carabiners and all necessary equipment to work on
trees and in safe conditions.
Preliminary operations
The user must control the efficiency pruning chain saw
and the oil and fuel level, and must also switch it off
when it is not in use.
The user must control the efficiency pruning chain saw
and the oil and fuel level, and must also switch it off
when it is not in use:
•
Secure the pruning chain saw with the strap using
the corresponding snap;
•
Use carabiners to attach the appliance to the
harness strap;
•
Make sure that the device is securely secured
before use;
•
Check that the pruning chain saw is secured to the
harness before hand it to the user. Securing the
pruning chain saw to the harness strap reduces
the risk of damage during pruning work. Always
turn the pruning chain saw off when it is only
being held by the harness.
Secure the appliance to the back of the harness so
that it does not interfere with the branches that are
used for climbing.

Using the pruning chain saw in a tree
Find a safe position in the tree. Most accidents happen
due to incorrect and unsafe postures. Using the pruning
chain saw with one hand must always be avoided
whenever possible.
This type of use increases the risk of injury due to:
•
Not having a firm grip on the saw in case of a
kickback;
•
Lack of control, increasing the risk of contact
between the pruning chain saw and branches, or
operator's body parts.
•
Loss of control due to dangerous and unstable
work positions in the tree, with the possibility of
contact with the running chain saw.
Safety position for using the pruning chain saw with
both hands
To use the appliance with both hands safely, it is
necessary to keep a stable position and use it:
•
At hip height, for horizontal cuts;
•
At abdominal height, for horizontal cuts;
When cutting vertical trunks, additional anchor points
may be necessary.
When moving the rope, keep your balance.
Starting the pruning chain saw in a tree
To start using a pruning chain saw in a tree you need to:
•
Engage the chain brake;
•
Keep the appliance away from the body;
•
By the left side: hold the pruning chain saw by the
front handle with your left hand and pull the recoil
starter with your right hand;
•
By the right side: hold the pruning chain saw by
the front handle with your right hand and pull the
recoil starter with your left hand;
The chain brake must always be engaged. Before
making a particularly difficult cut, it is necessary to
ensure that the device has enough fuel to complete the
operation.
