CONNECTABLE PLASMA CUTTER 40A
SETTING AT WORK
• The installation of the device must be carried out by qualified personnel. All fillings must comply
with current safety regulations.
• Connect the air, making sure that the pressure is at least 0.3 MPa (normal pressure is between
0.3-0.5 MPa). Adjust the pressure according to the workpiece. The recommended value is 0.4 Mpa.
• If the air supply comes from a pressure reducer of a compressor or a centralized installation, the
reducer must be set to the highest outlet pressure, which must not exceed 0.8 MPa.
• If the air comes from a compressed air cylinder, it must be equipped with a pressure regulator.
Never connect the compressed air cylinders directly to the reduction unit! The pressure could
exceed the capacity of the reducer and explode!
• Check that the power supply corresponds to the one indicated on the front panel of the machine.
• Connect the power cable (A): the yellow-green wire of the cable must be connected to a grounded
outlet, the remaining wires must be connected to the power line by means of the switch placed, if
possible, near the cutting area in order to quickly switch off the unit if necessary.
USE
• Turn on the main switch (D).
• By pressing the lamp button for one second, the compressed air flow opens. Connect the collet
(H) to the part to be cut.
• Each machine is equipped with a power cable that must be connected to a voltage class
coordinated according to the input voltage of the cutting machine. If the cutting machine, with a
supply voltage of 200 V, is incorrectly connected to AC 380 V, internal components will be burned.
• Make sure that the power cable (A) is connected to the power switch reliably and protect from
oxidation. Make sure that the supply voltage is within the corrugated range.
• The welding circuit must not be deliberately placed in direct or indirect contact with the protective
wire if it is not in the part. If the grounding of the workpiece is deliberately made by means of a
protective wire, the connection must be as direct as possible, the wire having a cross-section at
least equal to the weld return current wire and connected to the workpiece, at the same location
as the return wire, using the return wire terminal or a second ground terminal nearby.
• All possible precautions must be taken to avoid parasitic currents.
• Clean the workpiece to ensure good electrical contact with the collet. Do not connect the clamp
to the material to be removed.
• Press the torch button to start the pilot arc. If the cutting does not start after 2 or 3 seconds, the
pilot arc is switched off. You will have to press the button again to repeat the operation.
• When possible, the torch should be pulled out. Pulling is easier than pushing. Keep the torch in
an upright position when cutting.
• Once the cutting is complete and the button is released, air continues to escape from the torch
for about 40 seconds, allowing the torch to cool. It is recommended not to turn off the unit
beforehand.
