8. ATTENTION: If it is a new air handler and it is a first time installed heater, make sure the L1/L2 wires to the
heater breaker, then wire the ground wire. Use proper wire size as specified in this manual for selected heater
assemblies.
If the unit was previously installed without a heater, you need to follow the below steps to finish the
install process:
A.
Disconnect power leads from L1 and L2 on the air handler terminal block.
NOTE: No power should be connected to these terminals when heater is installed, power will connect to circuit
breakers supplied with heater kit.
B.
Some models have the power supply going direct to the 6-pin heater connector: Disconnect the pig tail
connector and discard; Connect the heater 6-pin connector as shown in Step 6; Connect power directly to circuit
breaker on heater as shown above in this Step 8.
C. Follow these Installation Instructions - Steps 2 to 7.
