e) Operation
• The product must only be used when mounted in a fixed location.
• Ensure that the connection terminals and mains cables are protected against accidental con-
tact.
• Use the product only in a temperate climate, never in a tropical climate.
• Never put the product into operation immediately after it has been brought from a cold room
into a warm one (for example, during transport). The resulting condensation may destroy the
product or cause an electric shock! Let the product reach room temperature first. Wait until
the condensation has evaporated; this may take several hours. Only then may the product be
mounted and connected to the mains.
• Do not use the product in rooms that are under adverse environmental conditions, where
combustible gases, vapours or dust are or may be present! There is a risk of explosion. Do not
use the product if it is damaged. There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the product must be switched
off and precautions must be taken to ensure that it is not used unintentionally. Do not touch
the product. First, switch off the mains voltage to all poles (switch off the connected circuit
breaker or remove the fuse and then switch off the connected RCD). Then, arrange for a
skilled electrician to check the product.
Installation and connection
To ensure that the device is operated correctly, read these operating instructions and the safety
information carefully before first use. Connection may only be performed in a de-energised/
currentless state. Otherwise there is a risk of a fatal electric shock! If the product is to be installed
in a control cabinet where dangerous voltages are present, do not carry out the connection and
installation yourself; rather, have it carried out by a qualified specialist (e.g., electrician) who is
familiar with the regulations and safety precautions. Otherwise there is a risk of a fatal electric
shock!
Place the power adapter on the DIN rail. To do this, the power adapter unit must be suspended on the
top side of the DIN rail and folded down until the clamp lock clicks into place
The clamp lock on the rear of the power adapter must point downwards.
If the power adapter is removed from the DIN rail, the clamp lock must be moved downwards with a suita-
ble flat screwdriver. Afterwards, the power adapter can be folded up and then removed from the DIN rail.
The DIN rail must comply with EN 60715:2018-07 (overall width 35 mm, total height 7.5 or 15
mm; TS 35/7.5 or TS 35/15). The power adapter cannot be mounted to other DIN rails!
Only one installation position is permitted: The inscriptions on the front must not be upside down
(the clamp lock on the rear of the power adapter unit points down). Keep sufficient distance to
other devices (5 mm left/right, 40 mm above and 20 mm below the power adapter) to ensure
optimum heat dissipation.
Connect the DC output or the double outputs of a power adapter to the corresponding devices. Always
ensure the correct polarity (positive/+, negative/-, see inscription on the power adapter). Strip approx. 7
mm from the end of the wires.
Finally, connect the mains cable (N = neutral wire, L = phase, see inscriptions 'N' and 'L' on the power
adapter). Strip approx. 7 mm from both wires.
Operation
Before switching the mains voltage on, the contact protection must be established (e.g. reattach covers
in a control cabinet, etc. so that the screw terminals are covered and only the front part of the power
adapter is accessible).
After switching the mains voltage on, the control LED on the power adapter lights up to indicate the
function.
a) Setting the output voltage
The power adapter is factory preset to the nominal output voltage (12 V/DC or 24 V/DC, depending on the
version). A voltage drop may occur if the cable lengths between the power adapter and the consumer are
very long. This means that the consumer no longer receives the nominal output voltage. In that case, the
output voltage can be adjusted with the rotary potentiometer. The output voltage can be readjusted between
12 and 13 V/DC or 23 and 25 V/DC.
Note the markings on the potentiometer.
Turning clockwise increases the output voltage, turning anti-clockwise decreases the output voltage.
Adjust the output voltage in small increments and then measure the voltage at the consumer
with a suitable measuring device.
Care and cleaning
This product does not require any maintenance. Never attempt to dismantle it.
Disconnect the product from the mains voltage before cleaning it.
Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these may damage the
enclosure or cause the product to malfunction.
Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be placed in household waste. At the end
of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with applicable regulatory guidelines. The
in-built battery must be removed by a specialist before disposal.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to environmental protection.
