Explanation of symbols
The symbol with the lightning in a triangle indicates that there is a risk to your health, e.g. due to
an electric shock.
The symbol with an exclamation mark in a triangle is used to highlight important information in
these operating instructions. Always read this information carefully.
The arrow symbol indicates special information and tips on how to use the product.
This product must only be used in dry, enclosed indoor areas. It must not become damp or wet,
as this may cause a fatal electric shock!
IP20
Degree of protection IP20 means that the product does not have protection against water, but
against solid objects with a diameter of more than 12.5 mm. The product may only be installed
in completely dry locations, e.g. in a dry room in the house.
LPS
For safety reasons, an LPS (Limited Power Source) power adapter is designed to provide a
maximum output voltage, maximum output current and maximum output power according in
accordance with EN 60950 -1.
This symbol indicates that this product is built according to protection class II. It is equipped with
reinforced or dual insulation between the mains circuit and the output voltage.
This symbol indicates that a safety transformer is built into the product according to VDE 0551
guidelines.
This symbol indicates that a switching power supply is installed in the product. The power adap-
ter transforms into one or more output voltages by means of electronic circuits.
This symbol reminds you to read the operating instructions included with the product.
This product has been CE tested and therefore complies with the necessary national and Euro-
pean regulations.

Safety information
Read the operating instructions and safety information carefully. If you do not follow the
safety information and information on proper handling in these operating instructions,
we will assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property. Such
cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
Caution, safety hazard!
The product should only be installed by people with relevant electrical knowledge and
experience! *)
If it is not installed properly, you risk:
- your own life
- and the life of the user of the electrical device.
If it is not installed properly, you risk severe damage to property, e.g., by fire.
You face the risk of personal liability for personal injury and material damage.
Always consult an electrician!
*) Technical knowledge required to perform the installation:
For the installation, the following specialist knowledge is required in particular:
- The 'Five safety rules': Disconnect from the mains; protect against accidental switch-on; en-
sure that there is no voltage; earth and short-circuit; cover or protect neighbouring live parts.
- Choose appropriate tools, measuring devices and, if necessary, personal protective equip-
ment
- Analyse measurement results
- Use electrical installation materials to ensure the turn-off criteria
- IP protection classes
- Install electrical installation materials
- Type of power supply (TN system, IT system, TT system) and the corresponding connection
criteria (classic earthing, protective earthing, necessary additional measures etc.)
If you do not know how to mount the product, get an expert to do it for you; do not
mount or connect it yourself.
a) General information
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity,
moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent unauthorised
use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height may damage the
product.
• Consult a technician if you are not sure how to use or connect the product, or if you have
concerns about safety.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair work may be carried out only by an expert or a specialist
workshop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.
• Always comply with the accident prevention regulations for electrical equipment when using
the product in industrial facilities.
b) Installation
• The installation work may only be carried out by a qualified expert familiar with the hazards
involved and with the corresponding regulations.
• Before connecting the device, turn off the power circuit to which the device is to be connected.
Remove the corresponding main fuse or trip the automatic fuse.
• Ensure that all corresponding cables are dead. Ensure that the cables are isolated and that
the contact points are covered. Never use bare wires for the connection.
• The device is protected internally against interference by means of a protective circuit. Despite
these protective measures, very strong magnetic fields may impair its function.
• Interference can be avoided by observing the following installation rules:
- Do not install the device near inductive loads (e.g. motors, transformers or contactors).
- The power should be supplied via a separate mains circuit (with a mains filter if required).
- Inductive loads must be equipped with protective devices to reduce overvoltages (varistors,
RC filters).
• Check whether interference signals are emitted when the product is used together with other
devices in a system.
c) Installation/connection
• The construction of the product corresponds to protection class II (double or reinforced insula-
tion). Ensure that the insulation of the casing is neither damaged nor destroyed.
• A multi-phase circuit breaker must be installed, e.g. a residual current circuit breaker. The-
re must be an appropriately dimensioned fuse or circuit breaker between the RCD and the
product.
• Installation and connection may only be carried out in a de-energised/currentless state. Switch
off the corresponding circuit breaker and RCD so that the mains supply is disconnected from
mains voltage on all poles. Protect it against an unauthorised switch-on, e.g. with a danger
sign. Check to ensure that there is no voltage with a suitable measuring device (e.g. a digital
multimeter).
d) Connected devices
• Always observe the safety information and operating instructions of any other devices which
are connected to the product.
