8. Commissioning

a) Inserting the batteries
Insert two new 2 x 1.5V AA batteries (type Mignon) into the batte-
ry compartment (17). In case of a power failure, the two batteries
ensure that the radio is still supplied with voltage.
• Open the battery compartment (17) on the device's underside.
• Insert 2 x 1.5V AA batteries type Mignon.
• Replace the cover of the battery compartment (17).
b) Supplying the radio with power
Plug the mains plug into a standard household mains socket (230 V/AC 50 Hz).
Now the display (14) lights up and alternates between the different selectable
colours.
You can activate/deactivate the display illumination via the but-
ton "LIGHT ON/OFF" (9). Press the button "LIGHT ON/OFF" (9)
several times to select the desired display illumination.
c) Aligning the antenna
Roll out the "FM cable antenna" (16) to ensure optimum radio reception.
