MEASURING DWELL ANGLE
1. Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the
red test lead to the VΩmAHz terminal.
2. Set the function switch to Dwell position. Then press the
button until the displayed number
cylinders matches the engine under test.
3. Connect the black test lead to chassis or the negative
terminal of the vehicle battery, and connect the red test
lead to the low voltage terminal of the distributor or the
negative terminal of the ignition coil.
4. Start the engine and read the reading on the display.
Note:
1. The input voltage must be between 2Vp and 50Vp. If the
voltage is too low, it will be impossible to make
measurement.
2. Reading's stability will decrease if the rotation speed of
the engine is too low.
3. The polarity of the input voltage must be correct; otherwise it will be impossible to make measurement.
MEASURING PULSE WIDTH
1. Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and
the red test lead to the VΩmAHz terminal
2. Set the function switch to ms PULSE position.
3. Press the
negative (-) trigger, the screen will show the
corresponding symbol.
4. Connect the test leads as shown in the figure. Then
read the reading on the screen
COMMUNICATION
To establish the communication between the meter and a PC, see the communication application
instruction on the CD provided with the meter. You can use the supplied data cable and the
communication application to transfer the measurement readings to a computer in real-time mode through
the use interface.
These readings will be displayed on the computer in several forms and can be stored as a file.
Before using the communication function, ensure that the supplied USB accessory has been installed in
the recess on the back of the meter.
MAINTENANCE
Except replacing battery and fuse, never attempt to repair or service the meter unless you are qualified to
do so and have the relevant calibration, performance test, and service instructions.
The meter should be stored in dry place when not in use. Don't store it in an intense electromagnetic field
environment.
Periodically wipe the case with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents.
Dirt or moisture in the terminals can affect readings. Clean the terminals as follows:
1. Set the function switch to OFF position and remove the test leads from the meter.
2. Shake out any dirt which may exist in the terminals.
3. Soak a new swab with alcohol.
4. Work the swab around in every terminal.
