Charging the batteries

The device must be switched off during charging. The mains adapter
provided (max. charging current 150 mA) is used to charge the batte-
ry within 12 to 14 hours. The red LED on the back of the housing sig-
nalises the charging process and is permanently lit during charging.
The charging procedure should take place in the temperature range
of 0 ... 45°C.
Under normal conditions, more than 500 charging and discharging
cycles can be expected. Long-term storage or excessively long batte-
ry charging leads to a reduced cell capacity. This loss of capacity can
be compensated by a full charge or by 1 to 3 charging and dischar-
ging cycles.

This DVGW reference concerns mobile devices used for detecting
leak spots on public gas supply systems, as well as on the customer's
own system, (domestic installations).
The term "gas detection devices" is used to describe devices which
prove gas concentrations with a sensitivity level of <100 ppm fuel
gas, in other words devices that are usually used to prove the exis-
tence of gas during leak detection.
The properties required of the devices should – as far as is appro-
priate – be listed in the manufacturer's operating instructions.
