INSTRUCTION MANUAL
INSTALLING AND CONNECTING THE BALLAST
For proper break-in on new lamps, we recommend that you run the Phantom
Ballast and bulb for at least 12 straight hours after initial startup. This will
improve lamp life and performance.
1. Find a suitable location for the ballast with sufficient cooling and away from
any heat source.
2. Install the lamp firmly into the lamp socket and connect the lamp cord to the
ballast.
3. Dimmable ballasts only: Turn the dimmer knob to your preferred setting
(60%, 75%, or 100%).
4. Plug the power cord into the power input panel on the side of the ballast.
5. Plug the power cord into the power source (electrical outlet).
MOUNTING THE BALLAST ON THE WALL
1. Remove parts from the hardware bag. The ballast's handle has
the screws and bolts already loosely placed in their holes. Find a
suitable location for the ballast.
2. Install 2 wall screws approximately 4 9/16" apart. If studs are not
available, use drywall anchors sufficient to hold 15 lbs. Ensure
that screw heads are large enough to
not slip out of slot in handle, but not too
large to fit through the large opening on
the keyhole slot (Fig. A).
3. Leave screw heads protruding
approximately 1/8"-1/4" from wall.
4. Mount the ballast vertically, with the
output connector toward the bottom, for optimum cooling
configuration. Ensure that keyhole slots are oriented correctly,
with the large hole down (Fig. B).
5. Loosen handle screws and slide handle to center (Fig. C) for wall
mounting, then retighten screws.
6. Slide ballast onto the screws (Fig. D).
PLACING THE BALLAST ON THE GROUND
1. Remove parts from the hardware bag. The ballast's handle has
the screws and bolts already loosely placed in their holes.
2. Find a suitable location for the ballast.
3. Slide the large rubber piece onto the end of the handle, matching
up the holes.
4. Slide rubber end of handle throught the fins toward output
connector. There may be some resistance getting the bolt
through the fins – twist and apply pressure to fit.
5. Position the handle with the rubber end flush with the bottom of
the unit for maximum support (Fig. E).
6. Tighten the screws and bolts with a screwdriver.
7. Place the ballast on the ground, with the cord output side down.
