1.3 Connecting the KUT:
1.3.1 Line Signals
Connect your line sources (CD player, controller, etc.) to the corresponding LINE-channel inputs for channels 1 – 2 -25-.
1.3.2 Phono Signals
Connect your phono sources to the corresponding phono channel inputs of channels 1 and 2 -25-.
Connect your grounding cable of your turntables to the GND grounding screws -26-.
1.3.3 Microphone Signal
Connect your microphone to the input for DJ Mic -22-.
1.3.4 Headphones
Connect your headphones to one of the headphones inputs -21-.
1.3.5 Fader-Start
Connect the fader-start cables of your CD player to the Fader-Start Connection -27-.
1.3.6 Master Output
Connect your sound system to Master Out -33- (RCA) or Master Out Balanced (XLR) -32-.
1.3.7 Monitor Output
Connect your monitoring system to Booth Out -31-.
1.3.8 Power Supply
Connect the power cable to the Power Connection -24-.
Connect the power cable to your power outlet.
1.3.9 USB Port
Your mixer disposes of an integrated USB interface which you can use for recording to or playing back from USB sources. Connect a USB cable to the USB Port -36- and your computer. For
usage with Windows, please install the ASIO driver. Further steps regarding driver installation can be found in chapter 4.
2. OPERATION
2.1 Power On
After all connections have been carried out, you can turn on the device via the ON/OFF Switch -34-.
2.2 Signal Input Select
Via the Signal Input Select Switch -1- you can select between USB, LINE and phono sources. Please observe the captions of the single signal input switches.
Via the Signal Input Select Switch -1.1- you can select between microphone, AUX and microphone (Talk Over) as source for the Mic/AUX/ channel.
2.2.2 USB Source Select
Via the USB Source Switches -28- you can select whether the deck input's -25- phono signal or line signal should be routed to the USB channel.
2.3 Gain
Via the Gain Dials -2- you can adjust the input volume for channels 1 and 2. Make sure that peak signals remain within the yellow range of the LED indicator -4-.
Use the Mic/Aux Level Dial -13- to adjust the volume of the MIC/AUX/MIC (Talk Over) channel. Make sure that the Peak LED -14- is only illuminated during peak highs.
2.4 Equalizer
With the 3-Band Equalizers -3- you can adjust low, mid and high frequencies for channels 1 and 2.
Via the 2-Band Equalizer -15- you can adjust low and high frequencies for the MIC/AUX/MIC (Talk Over) channel.
2.5 Linefader
The Linefaders -7- are used to adjust the output volume for channels 1 and 2.
The Linefader's curve can be adjusted with the help of the Linefader Curve Dial -10-.
In the 12 o'clock position the curve is linear.
By turning clockwise, the CUT limit will be moved to the upper fader pass.
By turning counter-clockwise, the CUT limit will be moved to the lower fader pass.
2.6 Crossfader
With the Crossfader -9- it is possible to switch between the left and right crossfader channel. The crossfader's curve can be adjusted via the Crossfader Curve Dial -11-. By turning counter-
clockwise, the crossfader becomes "sharp", namely good for scratching and cutting.
By turning clockwise, the crossfader becomes "smooth", namely good for long mixes.
You can use the Crossfader Assign Switch -8- to assign the crossfader sides A&B to channels 1 and 2.
2.7 Fader-Start
If you have connected appropriate CD players to the KUT (as described under Connections, item 1.3.5), you can trigger these via Linefader -7- respectively.
To do so, activate the Fader-Start Switch -29- respectively.
Fader-Start:
If you close the fader, the CD player connected to the respective channel via fader-start will return to the last saved cue point and switch to pause mode.
If you open the fader, the CD player will switch to playback mode.
NOTE! Please also refer to the information regarding fader-start of your CD player's instruction manual. Depending on the CD player model, deviations from the above
described functionalities may be possible.
2.8 MIDI ON/OFF
The Reloop KUT is able to emit MIDI signals. The respective MIDI commands can be found iin the MIDI chart below. You can (de-)activate this function via the MIDI ON/OFF Switch -30-.
2.9 DJ Mic / AUX
Via the Input Signal Select Switch -1.1- you can activate the microphone by putting the switch in Mic position. You can now adjust the volume via the Mic/Aux Dial -13-. Switch to AUX in order
to activate the source connected to the Input -23-. When in TLKOVR (microphone talk over) position, the volume of all channels except the mic channel will be lowered.
