Problem
Appliance does not
work/does not turn on.
No or delayed
response from
pressing buttons on
control panel.
Coffee is not hot
enough.
Coffee is too hot.
Coffee does not come
out of spout.

Steam wand is not

Cause
No power is connected to the appliance.
Panel may be dirty or wet.
Electromagnetic interference.

The coffee brewer is too cold.

Excessive scale has built up.
Empty system function may have been
used.
Pump airlock (air in the water pump).
Something is blocking the spout.
The coffee grounds are too fine.
Coffee ground is too coarse.
Coffee beans are not fresh.
Brew temperature is incorrect for this type
of coffee.
The steam wand is dirty or something is
blocking the output.
The unit needs to be descaled.
Improper form or technique.
Excessive scale has built up.
Water sensor is detecting water on the
outside of the water tank.
Coffee powder is too fine, coffee can not
pass through grounds.
Restriction in the coffee or steam nozzle.
Too much hard water scale building on the
internal tubing.
Solution
■ Check cable and plug are connected
to power and press the "on" button.
■ Check GSI plug.
Unplug the unit and clean the panel with
cloth provided and ensure panel is dry.
Unplug the machine. Wait a few minutes
then plug back in.
Run hot water into the cup and swirl it
lightly around to heat up the cup before
brewing espresso.
Dispense hot water to warm up the
coffee brewer.
Connect appliance to SmartHQ app and
raise temperature to preferred setting.
Connect appliance to SmartHQ app and
raise temperature to preferred setting.
Descale the appliance as directed on
page 15.
Run the hot water function until water
starts dispensing.
Run the hot water function until water

Run the hot water function until water

Adjust the coffee grinder so the grounds
are slightly larger or until the water flow is
back to normal.
Adjust coffee bean grind size to a smaller
setting during grinding operation.

■ Wipe the exterior of the water tank
and interior of the water tank housing
completely dry.
■ Avoid pouring water directly into the
water tank. It is recommended to pull
out water tank, fill, then replace in
the unit.
Adjust coffee bean grind size to a larger
setting during grinding operation.
Check for restrictions.
Descale the appliance.
