KJ-3000 Water Jetter Machine
Encountering Blockages
1. If the jetter nozzle does not pass right through the
blockage, combine the pulse action of the pump with
manual manipulation of the hose.
2. Once through the obstruction, pass the jetter nozzle
back and forth several times (preferably with pulse
OFF) through that section of the drain to ensure thor-
ough clearing. Then advance the nozzle several feet
further down the line before retrieving the hose.
3. Know the approximate total distance of the drain you
are jetting and use enough jetter hose to clean the
complete line.
"Jet Cleaning" or "Jetting" the Line
The jetter's cleaning action occurs by the nozzle orifices di-
recting high pressure water at the walls of the drain line
restoring the drain to the full inside line diameter. (This
same pressure produces the thrust that pushes the nozzle
down the line.) The slower the jetter hose is retrieved, the
better the results.
1. Make sure the pulse actuator is OFF. This will maxi-
mize the pressure and flow at the nozzle.
2. Slowly retrieve the jetter hose and clean the inside
walls of the drain.
3. Retrieve the jet hose about one to two feet at a time.
Several passes back and forth with each pull will as-
sure a properly cleaned drain.
WARNING
Never permit end of hose to rotate out of
the pipe being cleaned. Hose can whip and nozzle spray
can penetrate skin causing serious injury.
NOTE! If at any time during the jetting process the pres-
sure oscillates up and down between 500 and
3000 psi, stop the jetter:
• Turn the jetter and water supply OFF. Remove
the jetter nozzle and check the nozzle orifices.
(They are probably blocked). Clean them with the
nozzle cleaning tool by pushing the proper size
wire completely through each thruster orifice.
• If the problem persists, remove the nozzle and
insert the hose into the drain. Check the inlet fil-
ter screen at the inlet port and make sure it is
clean. Restart to flush the system of any trapped
air or debris that could be hampering the unit's
operation.
Indoor Applications
The KJ-3000 can be used for indoor or remote applica-
tions where the operator must be away from the unit.
NOTE! For safety reasons and to ease operation, oper-
ator should have an assistant stationed at jetter at
all times.
1. Position the jetter in the appropriate outdoor location.
2. Disconnect the hose reel connection hose from the jet-
ter quick connect and remove the entire hose reel.
3. Move the hose reel and the foot valve to the indoor or
remote drain access area. Connect the hose reel
connection hose to the foot valve quick connect
marked OUT.
4. Attach the 50' interconnect hose (or any other hose
rated for at least 3000 PSI) to the jetter quick connect
(as shown in Figure 2) and connect the other end to
the foot valve fitting marked IN (Figure 8). Use thread
sealant to prevent leaks.
5. Operate the jetter as described above. The foot valve
must be activated to adjust system pressure.

Pressure Wash Package
The KJ-3000 can operate as a pressure washer to spray
wash service vehicles, tools, drain cleaning equipment
and cables. The wash wand mounted to the
hose is attached to the jetter outlet port. Detergent can be
dispensed for more effective cleaning by using the in-
jector manifold.
