Possible Cause
Incorrect engine oil level.
Clogged or dirty cooling fins or carbu-
retor housing.
Dirty or clogged air filter.
Incorrect type or viscosity of engine
oil.
Augers not turning.
Impeller not turning.
Stretched or worn traction drive belt.
Dirty or wet traction drive pulley face.
Damaged or worn friction drive wheel.
Correction
Check engine oil level and adjust as needed.
Inspect cooling fins and carburetor housing.
Clean as needed.
Replace air filter according to engine manufac-
turer recommendations if dirty.

Inspect auger belts and shear bolts and replace
as needed.
Inspect impeller bolts and shear bolts. Replace as
needed.
Replace traction drive belt.
Inspect traction drive pulley face. Clean as
needed.
Inspect friction drive wheel. Replace as needed.
