2 Application
The pan/tilt head VPT-69 is designed for the use in
video monitoring systems. It is suitable for indoor use
only. By means of the VPT-69 the monitoring camera
can be panned and tilted remote controlled via a
connected control device (e. g. PT-24 or PTL-124 by
MONACOR). The motors in the pan/tilt head operate
with a voltage of 24 V~.

3 Safety Notes

This device is in accordance with EC-directive
89/336/ EEC for electromagnetic compatibility.
The device is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
from humidity and heat (admissible ambient tempe-
rature 0–40 °C).
Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use chemi-
cals or water.
To avoid damage to the pan/tilt head, only pan the
device electrically (i. e. via a control device). Do not
pan it manually!
If the device is used for purposes other than orig-
inally intended or if it is wrongly connected, wrongly
operated or not repaired by an expert, no liability
can be assumed for any possible damage.
Shall the device definitively be put out of opera-
tion, same has to be disposed of in a local recycling
plant.

4 Setting into Operation

4.1 Mounting the camera and pan / tilt head
Tightly screw the camera onto the mounting plate (2)
and fix the pan/tilt head via the 6.3 mm thread (5) at
the lower side of the device at the desired place.
4.2 Connections
1) Connect the required operating voltage to the
camera. The supply line should be long enough so
that it will not be turned off during panning of the
camera or exposed to strong mechanical stress.
2) Connect the BNC-plug (1) to the video output of the
camera. If the camera is not equipped with a BNC
jack, an appropriate adapter has to be inserted.
3) The video output signal is available at the BNC jack
(6). Connect the jack with the video input of the
monitor via a 75 Ω cable.
4) Connect a control device (e. g. PT-24 or PTL124 by
MONACOR) to the supplied plug via a 6 pole con-
trol lead. Put the plug with the control lead into the
jack (4). To activate a function, the corresponding
pole has to be supplied with 24 V~ against ground.
The supplied plug is represented dismantled from
the soldered side in figure 2.

*In case the MONACOR PT-24 or PTL-124 control device is
used, connect the corresponding contact to the pin indicated
on the PAN/TILT CONTROL jack (numbering seen from left to
right).
4.3 Adjusting the panning range
The panning range is limited by the two fixing de-
vices (3). The turning direction of the panning motor
changes as soon as the selector switch (7) will be
activated upon panning by one of the two fixing
devices.
1) Loosen the screws of the two fixing devices (3).
2) Position the fixing devices on the guide according
to the requested panning range.
3) Then retighten the screws of the fixing devices.
