Fused switch disconnector
Instructions
Safety from finger-touch
Degree of protection IP 20 to IEC 60529, DIN 40 050
Degree of protection IP 30 with moulded-plastic masking frame with the fuse carrier
closed
Commissioning and maintenance by qualified persons only.
Follow the operating instructions!
Application
The fuse switch disconnectors are used for closing on and disconnection of rated
operating currents up to 160 A AC.
Installation
For dimension drawings, see Fig. Ia (dimensions in mm).
Maintain clearances to earthed components!
For permissible mounting positions, see Fig. Ib.
For rear mounting, see Fig. IIa, b. Ensure that the surface is level!
For installation apertures and mounting holes, see Fig. Ic.
Fit contact carrier with 2 M5 (not hexagonal-head) screws. Always use plain and
spring washers.
Fit insulating-material block 3NY12.., see Fig. IIc, d.
For top hat rail mounting, see Fig. III.
3NP3535, 3NP3536, 3NP4015, 3NP4016
For mounting on bus system, see Fig. IVa (bar thickness: 5 mm) or
b (bar thickness: 10 mm).
For dismounting, see Fig. IVc.
For mounting in line between two mounting rails, see Fig. V.

Note: The feeder terminals must be located as closely to the centre position as
possible (see Fig. VIa).
Busbar adapter: Openings at top for main conductor connection, see Fig. IVa, 1.
Auxiliary switch
Slip-on terminal DIN 46244 - A.2.8 - 0.5
With control voltage >AC 25 V all
connections must be insulated.
Operation
Caution: If you use an auxiliary switch (Fig. VIII), ensure that this switch is correct-
ly actuated (even when the shutter is fitted) by way of the handle unit (Fig. IId, e).
See Fig. VII for fitting of the fuse links or disconnecting links.
Use fuse links with silver-plated blades or silver-plated disconnecting links only!
See Fig. IIe for fuse carrier installation.
Voltage test (only possible with 3NP401)
Use voltage test probes with diameter of ≤ 2.4 mm and minimum length of
38 mm.
The voltage is picked up at the fuse blades.

WARNING:
HAZARDOUS VOLTAGE
CAN CAUSE ELECTRICAL SHOCK
AND BURNS.
DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE PROCEEDING
WITH ANY WORK ON THIS EQUIPMENT.
Maintenance
Grease the main contacts according to switching rate (with Shell Alvania RLQ2 or
another high-grade aging-resistant mineral-oil-based lithium-soap grease/
worked penetration: 265 - 295, service temperature: -30 to +120 °C).
For replacement of the fuse line, see Fig. VII.
Retrofitting of auxiliary switch 3NY303., see Fig. VIII and Fig. Vc, 7.
