PEDESTAL AIR CIRCULATOR
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
Your Air Circulator has been designed and manufactured using the latest in technology.
However, as with all appliances, it is recommended that you note the following:
•
ALWAYS unplug unit for cleaning, wipe with damp cloth and mild detergent.
•
ALWAYS unplug when not in use.
•
ALWAYS unplug when moving fan from one place to the next.
•
DO NOT allow unit to become wet or damp.
•
DO NOT oil, motor is permanently lubricated.
•
DO NOT put foreign objects through the fan guard into blade.
•
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire and shock, do not use this fan with a solid state
speed control device.
•
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock from broken or damaged cord,
install flexible harness wrap to the cable as shown in Figure 4. Secure in place using two
wire ties. This will prevent the abrasion of the cable on the bushing as the fan motor
oscillates.
NOTE: At least 2" of harness wrap should go inside the column through the bushing. The
other end of the wrap should stay as close to the cord connector as possible.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
(Read all assembly instructions before beginning with the assembly of the fan.)
CAUTION: DO NOT install oscillating fans upside down as this may allow the fan to fall
or become permanently damaged. Mount only as shown in this manual with the fan
head on top of the bracket.
A. See Figure 2. Insert rubber grommet (1) into large hole on base (2). Route power cord (3)
from the bottom of the pedestal column (4) through the large center hole of the base and
out through the other large hole on the base.
B. Mount the column to the base using five 5/16. 18x3/4" carriage bolts (5) lock washers (6)
and nuts (7).
NOTE: For oscillating models, now refer to motor assembly instructions included with
the motor. With motor assembled, go on to step C. For all others, go directly to step C.
C. See Figure 2. Mount the motor assembly (5) to the pedestal column (4) using 1/2-13x1"
bolt (10), lock washers (6), and hex nut (7), and 1/4-20x1" bolt (11), lock washers (9), and
hex nut (8).
D. See Figure 3. Mount the rear guard (12) to the motor studs using #10 flat washers (13),
lock washers (14), and hex nuts (15). Note that one flat washer must be placed on each
motor stud before the guard is mounted.
NOTE: Front and rear guards are identical.
E. Slide the fan blade onto the shaft. The hub of the blade faces away from the motor. Allow
approximately 1/2" of the shaft to protrude beyond the front of the hub. Tighten the set
screw against the flat on the motor shaft. CAUTION: Tightening the set screw on rounded
portion of shaft may mar shaft and result in blade being impossible to remove.
F. Mount the front guard to the rear guard by snapping the alternating hooks of the front and
rear guards under the outer ring of the opposite guard. A screwdriver is required to snap
the hooks in place.
Note: Check all hardware before use to make sure all is tight.
G. Connect the power cord from the motor to the power cord of the pedestal column.
H. Adjust the desired height of the column by loosening the collar locking screw on the upper
portion of the lower column using a hex key wrench. Set the desired height (See Figure 5).
Make sure the screw is secured before operation of the fan.
I. See Figure 6. For HD series models, attach wheels (23) to the wheel bracket (17) on the
base (18), using 1/4-20x2 1/4" bolts (19), washers (20), spacers (21), and hex nuts (22).
See Figure 6 below.
J. Plug the power cord from the base directly into 110-120 VAC 3 prong grounded outlet.
