warnings and instructions may result in electric shock,
fire and/or serious injury.
Save all safety warnings and instructions for future ref-
erence.
Do not use this tapping unit before you have thor-
oughly read and completely understood this
Instruction Manual and the safety and operating
instructions of the magnetic core drill unit from the cor-
responding instruction manuals. The documents men-
tioned should be kept for later use and enclosed with the
tapping unit, should it be passed on or sold.
Please also observe the relevant national industrial safety
regulations.
Intended use of the tapping unit:
Attachment for magnetic core drills approved by FEIN for
drilling of right-hand threads in through holes and blind
holes.
Operating Instructions.
To increase the tool life of the tap, it is recommended to
apply a lubricating agent alongside the intended cutting
line:
– For cuts in steel sheet: Cutting paste or cutting oil.
– For cuts in aluminium: Petroleum.
Clamp the tapping unit in the magnetic core drill unit.
The taps are clamped in tapping inserts, which are cou-
pled in the tapping unit.
A tapping insert is required for each tap size. Tapping
inserts with safety clutch protect the tap against breakage.

Insert the torque support into the groove of the guide;
this secures the tapping unit against turning.
Cut the thread by applying feed via the spindle.
By retracting the machine spindle upon reaching the
thread depth, the tapping unit automatically switches to
left-hand rotation and the tap is wound out of the cut
thread.

The tapping unit can not be maintained by the user.

the legal regulations in the country where it is marketed.

for environment-friendly recycling.
