    User Manual. SAFETY WARNINGS For your safety and the safety of others, North strongly urges you to undergo lessons with a recognised, certified Instructor prior to using this product. This User Manual is NOT a substitution to lessons. Kiteboarding, wind-winging and foiling involve unavoidable risks so it is important that you familiarise yourself with these risks and take appropriate measures to minimise risks as much as possible.

    Over tightening screws can cause irreversible damage to your Foil. Doing so will render your warranty void. WARNING: As your foil will be exposed to a harsh marine environment, there is the risk of corrosion even with the high-quality materials used. WARNING: Due to excessive loads and stresses, the AK70 and AK85 masts should only be used with the Sonar 850 and 1150 front wings.

    3.1. BOARD ADAPTER TO MAST ASSEMBLY (AK/AF FOILS ONLY) Ensure all surfaces are free from dirt or sand prior to assembly. Locate the marine grade grease provided in the Tool Kit. Apply a small amount the grease onto the threads and undersides of the heads on the two screws from Board Adaptor Screw Pack A.

    3.2. FUSELAGE TO MAST ASSEMBLY Ensure all surfaces are free from dirt or sand prior to assembly. This is particularly important when assembling the Fuselage onto the Mast using the GeoLock connection. Locate the marine grease provided in the Tool Kit. Apply a small amount of the grease to the threads of the screws provided in Screw Pack B (Note: the two screws supplied in Fuselage Screw Pack B will come preassembled with a plastic washer on the bottom and stainless steel washer on top).

    3.5.1. ATTACHING YOUR SONAR FOIL TO A NORTH FOILBOARD USING THE DROPBOX TRACK MOUNTING SYSTEM There are two effective methods for attaching your foil to your North Foilboard DropBox. Method selection depends on personal preference*. Please read both assembly methods before proceeding with a selected method.
  • Page 18 T-Nut by 1-2 full turns. Turn the foil over and position the Board Adaptor/CF Carbon Mast top above the tracks. The arrow on the Board Adaptor/CF Carbon Mast should be pointing towards the nose of the board.
  • Page 19 Rider Weight Positioning Guide (Section 3.6) as a reference. When you are happy with the positioning, tighten all the screws firmly using the Torx T40 tool in a diagonal sequence until the foil is fully secured, and the screws are firmly tight.

    3.5.3. ATTACHING YOUR SONAR FOIL TO A NON-NORTH FOILBOARD Please refer to the other manufacturer’s foilboard user manual for instructions. WARNING: Use of a Sonar Foil with a non-North foilboard is at the user’s own risk. North does not accept any responsibility. WARNING: Ensure you’re using the correct length screws for your foilboard.

    SYSTEM Lay your foilboard upside down on a stable surface free from rocks or stones. Whilst supporting the foil, use the Torx T40 tool provided in the Tool Kit to partly loosen the four screws in a diagonal sequence. Once all four screws are loose but still attached to the T-Nuts, slightly lift the foil up to overcome the surface friction between the board and Board Adaptor/CF Carbon Mast top.

    4.2. FRONT WING DISASSEMBLY Whilst supporting the Front Wing, use the Torx T40 tool provided in the Tool Kit to individually loosen the three screws. Remove the three screws, then carefully set the Front Wing aside. Store screws in a safe and accessible place.

    3.2. MONTAGE DU FUSELAGE AU MAT Assurez-vous de nettoyer toutes les surfaces contre les saletés ou le sable avant l’assemblage. C’est particulièrement important pour l’assemblage du fuselage avec le mât, en utilisant la connexion GeoLock. Repérez la graisse marine fournis dans le kit. Appliquez un peu de graisse sur les pas de vis des vis fournies dans le paquet B de vis (Note: les deux vis fournies dans le paquet B de vis du fuselage arrivent préassemblées avec une rondelle plastique en dessous et une rondelle en inox au-dessus.).

    SYSTEME DE MONTAGE A RAILS DROPBOX Il y a deux façons utiles pour monter votre foil sur une planche de foil North Dropbox. La méthode choisie est un choix personnel. S’il vous plait, lisez les deux méthodes de montage avant de continuer avec la méthode choisie.
