5. GENERATOR USE
WARNING!
Do not connect directly to the building's electrical system. Doing
so may result in electrical shocks, fire, and backfeeding the grid.
Connections for standby power to a building's electrical system
must be done by a qualified electrician and must comply with all
applicable laws and electrical codes. See Chapter 1.2 - Safety for
more information.
Before using the generator, consult a local electrician and local
electrical codes to determine grounding requirements for your
intended use. This generator is floating neutral.
Use only grounded 3-prong extension cords in good condition,
ensure the wire size is sufficient to safely carry the generator's
wattage. See Chapter 1.2 - Safety for more information.
